This past Sunday I was a speaker at Sherida's team meeting ( a fellow demonstrator).  What I love about "get togethers" with other demonstrators is that you always learn something new.  I was privileged to make 3 wonderful make and takes.  One of them was this awesome technique that I haven't done before, it's simple and yet so beautiful.  I hope the image is clear to you, if not you need to try this at home and please forward me your card and comments.

Technique of the week:  Painting with embossing technique

Embossed Painting is a technique that allows you to combine 3 or more of your favorite colors in one embossed image.

1.  First put your 3 colors of embossing powder in 3 separate small containers. 

2.  Run embossing buddy on the cardstock you are going to stamp

3.  Stamp an image on cardstock using VersaMark Ink pad.

4.  Sprinkle each color of emboss powder over the image, one at a time.

5.  Add a little sampler of each of the embossing powder in different containers.

6.  Start with the color you want to show most and sprinkle. Cover only a small part of the image with your first color then move on to the next color until the entire image is colored!

7.  Heat set!

Voila! an elegant card, imagine this technique to create masculine cards!  I am always trying to find cool techniques for masculine cards.  I will sure try this one out!

Shelli Gardner of stampin'up! posted on her blog a challenge about fabric because she had received a package from Karen Bernhardt, a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, with two darling homemade bears made from our designer fabric.  Her assistant dubbed them Candy and Holly, after stampin'up's fabrics, which are named Candy Cane Christmas and Deck the Halls.

It was at about that time that I had seen fabric owls and vowed to myself that I would create them.  Owls are so in right now.  You can find them as candles, candle holders, decorations and on clothes.  The ones I made are suppose to be ornaments or stuff animals.  Instead, I decided to stuff the little ones with lavender for my daughters when they go to sleep at night.  Jordan has been asking about a dream catcher.  Well this is my su version of a dream catcher!  The bigger ones, I will probably stuff some with grains to create heat bags you warm up in the microwave for sore tummies.  (of course I would remove the buttons).  So here are my own version of Candy & Holly and their little ones!

Well better late than never!  I wanted to share again this great technique to punch a perfect square.  Here is a great sample of a baby card.  This is a sweet color combo:  blush bride, very vanilla and crumb cake.

Cutting perfect square borders

Step 1 Cut a piece of card stock at 3 13/16 on all 4 sides. 

Step 2  Punch with corner punch in all 4 corners. 

Step 3  Use matching border punch, center and punch all sides.

  I love the layout I think I should make a boy version too!

Like I said to you on Monday, I truly cherish the friendships since I started as a demonstrator.  One of my favorite friend demonstrator is Jo-Ann Pullen.  She is very caring & talented.  I love it when we meet at events.  As I said, she is such a sweet heart that she made 40 wowser pizza boxes for all of us at my creative escape weekend retreat at Le Viceroy, Lac Simon, Quebec.  Yes it takes patience.  Not only did she create these boxes but she also made treats for inside.  Unfortunately, I am unable to show you the treat since I ate it.  Oh! yes, I ate so many goodies during the weekend that I am on sugar withdrawal!

My card has a vintage feel, which I love!  This color combo is one of my favorite!  Making 30 of these!  I also added Shimmer Magic:  Champagne shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alcohol.  You cannot see it here but it is so sparkling on the early espresso cardstock.

Well we are already in October!  This past weekend, I held my first weekend retreat- Creative Escape Weekend Retreat.  Marlayne and I hosted for a bunch of fabulous ladies.  The best part for me about being a demonstrator is to create (we all have creation deep in ourselves)  but some of us just don't know it, giving to others and spoiling them too & most of all, the friendships…  Well this weekend was all about that, a mini founder's circle for our customers, demonstrators & friends.  I took so many pictures and will share a few highlights.  But the first thing I wanted to share was my Fabric Journal Class.  Here is a sneak peek!  You will get more pictures this week.  I am so not a sewer but after attending convention and listening to Shelli & Sara's presentation on fabric, I realized, I do not need to be a sewer to use Stampin up's amazing fabric.

I actually have two:  This is "the Shelli"  version since Shelli presented Deck the halls fabric at convention. 

The other one is "the Sara" version which I will show you soon, it is made using the Candy Cane Christmas fabric.
