Decorating my Halloween Advent Calendar:

Step 1:  Apply Tombow glue on the Chunky Frame.

Step 2:  Apply 1 sheet of Pick Your Poison designer paper.  I have to admit it brakes my heart knowing that most of this designer paper will be covered with the Peekaboo frames.  But the outcome will be wonderful with the 31 days of Halloween.

Step 3:  Sand the designer paper even to the frame so it doesn't overflow on the sides.

Step 4:  Cut out 4×4 opening with Exacto knife.

Step 5:  Apply pick your poison Quick Accents around the 4×4 opening.

Actually, l love the frame itself, but when I started applying the 31 days of Halloween, I knew it's going to be even better.

Share on Facebook ]]> http://riverfrontstampin.com/and-the-winner-is/feed 1 My First Blog Hop http://riverfrontstampin.com/my-first-blog-hop http://riverfrontstampin.com/my-first-blog-hop#comments Fri, 09 Sep 2011 05:18:25 +0000 Kim http://riverfrontstampin.com/?p=2804 So this is my first blog hop.  I am part of Josee Smuck's downline, her 4th level down, actually.  Since Josee has moved to Winnipeg 1 year ago, we don't get to do much as a team anymore.  When she announced the blog hop, I thought of two things, first it challenges me to create and second, what a great way to reconnect with our inkies team members again.  As time goes by, I'm sure we will grow and have the biggest blog hop since there are so many talented demonstrators.  Remember in the beginning of the week, I shared my first Halloween treats.  Well today I'm going to show you a similar project but Kim style and post the instructions too.


Instead of treats filled with candies, I filled these with Spice Cake designer buttons, they are 1 1/2" in diameter.  Wow never saw such big buttons for crafting.

Instructions:

1.  Cut a piece of very vanilla 4 1/4" x 11  (so with a 8 1/2" x11 sheet you get two)

2.  Score the very vanilla card stock at 1 1/4"  and 6"

3.  Stamp leaf images from the stamp set Gently Falling in Soft Suede, More Mustard, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz on the very vanilla cut card stock.

4.  Punch out an open space with a punch to showcase your candies or in my case buttons, I used  the Scallop circle punch

5.  Fold you pre-scored 1 1/4" very vanilla piece and attach a piece of Spice Cake Designer Series Paper that is 1" x 4"

6.  You will then staple the two pieces together to create a loop like in the image above.

7.  Decorate to taste, I added scraps of designer paper and folded them in accordion fold and glued them with sticky tape, I added 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon in soft suede, and attached a handmade tag with the greeting that says "MERCI BIEN" from the stamp set Notes manuscrites or you can use the English version Hand-Penned Holidays and stamped a few leafs and glued them on to create a 3D image.

8.  Fill cello with candy or like me with Spice Cake buttons and stick them in with sticky tape.

Voila!

Here is Megan, she was my inspiration for this month's hostess gift.  I decided to go with a classic, simple yet elegant look = Black and White.  I have created a monogram hostess card box and it includes 4 cards with envelops. On the downside, summer is half done and we haven't been around, Tony and I made a list of 30 things that needed to be done around the house.  We realized that our busy schedule was not going to cut it.  So my dad is helping us out and started today to do the things on the list.  I am so grateful and the girls are super excited that he's around too:)  I love watching the girls pitching around and helping him out. 

I have so many projects that I want to show you.  Having all these events to attend in July made me stamp a lot. And now it's time to post some of them here.  First, I wanted to post my hostess box and matching cards that I presented at convention.  I created the box from a soap box from a hotel and just changed the size to fit a 3×3 card.  Simple Right?

The girls had fun making cupcakes this weekend. 

Here is a few pictures of them.  The girls were my source of inspiration for these cupcake boxes & matching cards. Although the bunnies didn't fit in, the regular cupcakes did.  We made the cupcake boxes in different colors and patterns.  It was so much fun.  As for myself, I discovered a new passion, decorating these cupcakes was easier then I thought it would be.
