Because every picture tells a story

…because every picture tells a story…

If you are a close acquaintance of mine, you know that I am very passionate about paper crafting.  But I am more passionate about scrapbooking.  I love creating projects to preserve my memories:  memories of my children, my stamping world, and memories with my love.   At our recent stamping event, I offered the opportunity for attendees to purchase my urban underground project life album and coordinating pages.  Below you will find sneak peeks of the album.  My full detailed album and instructions is available HERE (for those who have already purchased the class).  If you missed your opportunity at my stamping event and would like to purchase this class, email me.  I would gladly mail the products to you and give you access to my password code for additional instructions and images. I am adding a few bonus pages for you to reproduce.   Extra ideas is always fun!  I couldn’t limit my choices in photos so I kept going and created a full album.

This album is versatile for any occasion.  I specifically created mine to showcase my trip to Jamaica with Chris.  In just a couple of hours, you will have a full album completed.  I thing the longest part for you will be printing and selecting your photos :)! So hard to let go

I hope you've enjoyed your holidays. I've taken some time off and it feels wonderful. When Stampin'up releases the retiring list of products from a catalogue, I always cringe my teeth… I have trouble letting go of my retired favorites… I use to keep them anyway but now I only keep a selected few… Being a demonstrator for over 10 years has made my stash of SU products pretty big. If I kept all my stampin products, I would need to upgrade the size of my craft room… Us demonstrators have great perks, like free goodies, bonus and a discount on our products, hence the reason I have a great and big supply of goodness… You might want to check in during the Sale-a-bration period that starts on January 4th, the starter kit has a great deal going down…  There has never been a better time to join either for the discount or to start your own business.

The holiday catalogue is coming to an end on January 3rd, just like the holiday are almost over.  I've shifted from making holiday projects, to winter projects… I'm loving the Mountain Adventure stamp set… This is one stamp set that I'm keeping in my retired stash… Skiing is a big part of our family activities and I know this set will be useful for a very long time.  I've design this scrapbook page below for my January scrapbook club, if you would like to attend, I'm hosting on January 11th.  If you live too far then take advantage of my kit to go.  The kit to go includes the Mountain Adventure stamp set.  You have until January 3rd to sign up.

I wanted to include so many pictures… There wasn't enough space for my journaling.  To resolve this issue, I added flip pockets to incorporate my journaling. The linen thread kept the pockets closed.  Another idea would be to use magnets…

The embellishments from the holiday catalogue were pretty amazing as well.  I love glittery things.  The tins of tags project kit includes these star and circle sequins.  I added them using the Fine tip glue pen.  I also added white mica flakes to my mountains.

Here is a view of the inside of my pockets.  I stamped the inside and colored the stamp images with my new watercolor crayons that are coming in the new occasion catalogue.  This is one of the perks of being a demonstrator, we can pre order the new goodies from the next catalogue. If you don't have the new crayons, you can use the ink off of your ink pads.  I just press my ink pad down so the ink transfers to the inside of the lid.

On my previous post, I talked about how much I love the large letters framelits. This time I embossed my letters with softly falling textured impression embossing folder.  Adding texture to the letters made the title pop out.  I also added more white mica flakes…

Tip: When I want to display a scrapbook page, I get a 12×12 canvas at my local craft store and mount the page to it.  It's perfect for wall art or even to display on a shelf.  This page will make it to my scrapbook wall for sure… The color combo is perfect for my display area.

Crafting is much more…

I am so grateful to have discovered crafting as a hobby.  Like I have written before, I didn't even know I had one ounce of creativity in me.  With Stampin'up!, it's so easy because everything coordinates and that is why I love Stampin'up! so so much.  Did you know that I was an ER nurse before?  I have switched to community nursing because it meets my family and I's needs.  I do miss the ER very much.  I am a technical person and not a paper girl!  Actually, I went to bed a little too late last night, cleaning my stamp room and it made me realize that nursing goes hand in hand with Crafting.  I love the technical side of nursing and the technical side of crafting, LOVE to create!!!  But the paper work is another thing, wish I could play all the time.  There is another side of nursing that I find in crafting as well!  Yes I love the personal relationships that I have with my customers/patients.  Nursing as well as Crafting goes way beyond!  And I have grown as a person doing both.

For instance, it gives me great pleasure to share this simple card with you today because this card has personal sentiment to me.  A few months ago, I shared with you that a coworker's daughter had lost her baby at birth.  I had made a 20 pages album to give to her with pictures of them together.  You can read about it and view pics HERE.  Well her mother, Cathy was so touched and she decided to add 20 more pages.   These past few weeks have been hard on Jenna not having her sweet daughter Piper.  So I made this card to her and wrote a personal heart felt message.  Although I don't really know Jenna, I really wanted to give back to her and help her ease the pain that she is going through.  I wasn't there when she got the album and card but truly hope it will help ease the pain.

Jenna and I have similar taste, I know she loves pearls and lace.  I wanted to make a card as elegant as her.

I challenge you to make a card for someone, a simple card can make a big difference in someone's life!

Just a reminder that there are only 14 days left to take advantage of the starter kit and receive a FREE big shot or 125$ of products.  Click HERE for details.  Password to sign up is stampingkim  I would love for you to be part of my cupcake cuties team.

Have a great week and hug your loved ones extra hard!

Creative Escape Sneak Peek Class 1

In less than one month, we will be hosting our Fall Creative Escape Retreat.  I am so excited to share with you one of my classes for our Retreat.  Here is a Sneak Peek.  It's a Wow Album.  Not because of the outside but because of the inside.  I'm not completely done but will share a little today, since my facebook buddies Tammy and Jo-Ann wanted to see it.  If you are interested in attending our retreat, we have 20 open spots.  Our retreat is sold out for guests who are spending the 2 nights but Marlayne and I have opened 20 extra spots for non-sleeping guests.  Email me if you are interested.

I am also doing the same album but with the Christmas theme, so guests who attend the retreat will have 2 options to choose from.  Fall or Holidays, it will be a difficult choice!

Here is the inside:  I still need to add my pictures and my embellishment to make it Kim's Style!

If you are attending our retreat, you will get complete details of this class via email. Have a great evening, I'm off to finish my album:)
