Creative Escape Sneak Peek #3

It's been a great productive week.  The more I create, more ideas keep flowing.  I love it.  Our Creative Escape retreat is in exactly two weeks.  I have accomplished lots and still have more to do.  I can't wait to share with you after the retreat.  If you aren't attending this one, I hope you can just us next time.

A few days back I had posted my first Sneak Peek of one of the classes I was offering at our Creative Escape Retreat.  It was a Fall Wow scrapbook.  You can view it HERE.  I have given my guest the option to do the Fall version or a Holiday Version.  Here is my share of my Holiday Wow tag scrapbook.  I can't wait to add more than 24 Family Pictures in this album.

Hello Doily Christmas Card

I love background stamps.  They make a card so beautiful and you don't really need to add much to a project.  When I saw the Hello, Doily background stamp set I was over the moon.  A stamp set like Hello, Doily speaks for itself.  Last night at my Christmas class one of my guest made a beautiful page with it.  It wasn't a Christmas Page but it inspired me to make a card for today's share.  I love how this stamp is so versatile, from simply elegant to holiday projects, this baby is a must in your stamp space.  You probably can't see very well but this card is 5×5, therefore it is a large stamp set.

I used the scallop square die with the Frostwood lodge designer paper.  Another great die to use with your big shot.  And you can get your own big shot or 125$ of free products when you sign up as a demonstrator.   Ask me how or join HERE.

If you are recreating a 5 x 5 card, don't forget the Medium Square envelopes #107289

Hello Doily background stamp #122845

Supplies used to make my Hello, doily card :

Stamp set: Hello, Doily #122845

Ink:  Whisper White Craft ink

Card stock and paper:  Cherry Cobbler #119685, Whisper White #100730 and Frostwood Lodge Designer Series Paper

Accessories and tools:   3/8" Quilted Satin Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler #124105, white embossing powder #109132, embossing tool #100005, Antique brads #117273, Embossing Buddy #103083, Powder Pals Tray #102197, Big shot #113439, Scallop Square #115950, Paper-piercing Tool #116631, Medium Square envelopes #107289

Creative Escape Sneak Peek Class 2

Let the countdown begin.  In 16 days, Marlayne and I are hosting our 3rd Creative Escape Retreat.  We host in Spring and Fall.  I get especially excited in the Fall because I get to make Holiday projects for our guests.  I am honored to host 2 classes at the retreat.  The first one was my Fall Wow scrapbook which you can view HERE and now you get a sneak peek of the second class.

I have always wanted to make an Advent calendar and didn't know where to start.  This year I am amazed that Stampin up! came up with products in the Holiday Mini to make one.  The Stamp set 25 & Counting or in french J-25 and the new Peekaboo Frame Bigz Die are the perfect and easy way to create one.  I could not pass up this opportunity:)  I was going to make it on a canvas so my guests could make one at a reasonable price.  But then Stampin up! came up with great products on the clearance rack, which included the Chunky Frame.  It's been one of my favorite products and I was sad when stampin up retired the frame.  So now that it's back for limited quantities and at a cheap price, I jumped on the occasion.  And suddenly I thought to myself, I will use the chunky frame to make my advent calendar.

And voila! the outcome:

I loved how easy it was to create the opening frames, the peekaboo Frame Bigz L die was perfect for that.  And now until the end of October, Stampin up has offered the Big Shot for FREE or 125$ of FREE product, when you join my family of demonstrators in October.  Learn how to get this sweet deal HERE

The chunky frames are great to work with because you can add any designer paper to decorate the frame.  It's simple you just cut your paper and glue it to the frame.   I used Frostwood Lodge Designer Paper.

I am truly grateful of this beauty and will display it every year during the Holidays.  I especially love Day 25, which is our family picture and wishes Happy Holidays.

You can view or purchase the Chunky Frame on my clearance rack by clicking HERE and selecting clearance rack on the left.  This item has limited quantities and you might want to get one asap.

If you are attending our Creative Escape Retreat then this is a class you don't want to miss, email me.

Last Day at Founder’s

It's a bitter sweet day, as this was our last day at Founder's but I do miss my family and am ready to go home.  I had a great day, again it was a free day to shop just a little and spend time with friends and then Stampin'up! took us to our surprise destination for an evening of fun.  We actually went golfing stampin'up! style.  We were challenged to guess how many stamps in a container, drive a marshmallow, stamp blind folded etc.  I had the greatest time and laughed so hard.  Imagine 130 some demonstrators on golf carts.  We had challenges on all 9 holes.  Don't you think they go all the way?  Our theme was tea party and they added golfing on the tee to match that theme!  How smart is that?

We were matched my teams, here is my teammate Joanne from The Brits.

After Golf we headed to the club house for a delicious buffet.  Our center pieces were gorgeous, beau chateau style.

They also had trophies for our sportsmanship with the in colors markers.  It will be in display it in my studio and will remind me of this wonderful day.

When I arrived back to my room, of course there was another pillow gift awaiting for me on my bed.  This beautiful blossom box #123127.

Inside, a wonderful chain filled with baubles and crown trinkets from our Catalog to use as a key chain or to hang on a purse.  I especially loved the tea cup, it is engraved Founder's 2011.  I will need to figure where and how to use it.  Since it will remind me of memories of Founder's.  It could have been intimidating being with the top 100 in the states and top 15 in Canada.  But I made wonderful friends that I am blessed to have met and was really welcomed by so many of them.  They really made me feel at ease and I am truly grateful.

Being part of Stampin'up! is fully rewarding.  If you would love to learn about this opportunity and be part of my team, contact me and we can set some goals.  From hobbyist to Top demonstrator in Canada, there is a place for everyone.  I would love to help you discover the benefits.  And if you are already a demonstrator, I wish for all of you to experience Founder's one day:)

My First Blog Hop

So this is my first blog hop.  I am part of Josee Smuck's downline, her 4th level down, actually.  Since Josee has moved to Winnipeg 1 year ago, we don't get to do much as a team anymore.  When she announced the blog hop, I thought of two things, first it challenges me to create and second, what a great way to reconnect with our inkies team members again.  As time goes by, I'm sure we will grow and have the biggest blog hop since there are so many talented demonstrators.  Remember in the beginning of the week, I shared my first Halloween treats.  Well today I'm going to show you a similar project but Kim style and post the instructions too.

Instead of treats filled with candies, I filled these with Spice Cake designer buttons, they are 1 1/2" in diameter.  Wow never saw such big buttons for crafting.

(Side view)

Instructions:

1.  Cut a piece of very vanilla 4 1/4" x 11  (so with a 8 1/2" x11 sheet you get two)

2.  Score the very vanilla card stock at 1 1/4"  and 6"

3.  Stamp leaf images from the stamp set Gently Falling in Soft Suede, More Mustard, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz on the very vanilla cut card stock.

4.  Punch out an open space with a punch to showcase your candies or in my case buttons, I used  the Scallop circle punch

5.  Fold you pre-scored 1 1/4" very vanilla piece and attach a piece of Spice Cake Designer Series Paper that is 1" x 4"

6.  You will then staple the two pieces together to create a loop like in the image above.

7.  Decorate to taste, I added scraps of designer paper and folded them in accordion fold and glued them with sticky tape, I added 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon in soft suede, and attached a handmade tag with the greeting that says "MERCI BIEN" from the stamp set Notes manuscrites or you can use the English version Hand-Penned Holidays and stamped a few leafs and glued them on to create a 3D image.

8.  Fill cello with candy or like me with Spice Cake buttons and stick them in with sticky tape.

Voila!

Supplies used to make my Spice Cake treats :

Stamp set: Gently Falling  #123802(w) #123804(c), Hand-Penned Holidays #124310(w), #124312(c) or en Français Notes manuscrites #125359(w), #125361(c)

Ink:  Soft Suede #115657, More Mustard #103162, Pool Party #122938 and Pear Pizzazz #119784

Card stock and paper: Spice Cake Designer Series Paper #124003, Very vanilla cardstock #101650

Accessories and tools:  1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon in soft suede #125060, Spice Cake Designer Buttons #124113, 3"x5" cellophane bags #103104, Linen Thread #104199, 2 3/8" Scallop circle punch #118874

I'm the last blog hop for September.  If you want to go back to the beginning click HERE

Happy Friday!  I hope I did good for my first blog hop, please leave a comment.    I was suppose to show the inside of my album from my team meeting but will do this over the weekend as I do have another nursing training today and need to catch some ZZZzzzzzzzz:)

Blog Candy who wants a workshop wallet?

Hi everyone, I am so happy to be back here, I was so so sick with this huge monster in my throat that was pretty disgusting, accompanied with 5 days of Fever.  So no stamping for me:(  I am still going under some test for diagnosis but words came out of my doctor's mouth like Strep throat, or Mono or ….and I didn't like it.  I have taken nearly 10 days of antibiotics and feel much better since yesterday.  So slowly I am answering emails, Facebook emails etc.  My class schedule should be up tomorrow and I should be back to stamping again.  Either God or my own body is slowing me down, you know sending me a message to take better care of myself.  After sleeping none stop for a few days, I feel much better.

Over the Top Card

It's been a crazy week at work, my nursing job has pulled me away from my stamp room and it saddens me!  When I get home from work, I am drained out!  Shortage of Nurses, increase in high risk clients has piled up my workload.  Wonder what I do?  One of my tasks, is to go in the homes of families  and assess newborns.  I help with breastfeeding and other issues.  Seeing high risk clients is part of my daily job as we have lots of teenage mothers, families who live in financial difficulties, who make poor daily life choices in this community.  It's my job to teach them better choices, baby care, to find funds for them to pay for diapers etc.  In the last two weeks, I have gotten an overload of high risk clients which breaks my heart.  Having 3 daughters has really soften me up.  You don't know how often I feel like bringing a neglected child at home with our family.  It happens almost every day.  I am normally in bed by 9h30, that is so not me!  Tonight, I took a different approach on this high level of stress.  What do you do when you are stress?  Normally I would go for a run with music playing full blast.  I am truly blessed to have Stampin'up! in my life.  How wonderful that I have found stamping to unwind.  Tonight I chose to go to my studio and played Adele Full blast.  Tony must have felt the walls shaking. Boy! it felt Soooooo Good!  I really let myself go and created an over the top card!   I hope you enjoy it, I surely enjoyed letting myself go!  Now just wondering, who to give this card to, any ideas?

I love the crisp image of the flower in the Creative Elements stamp set.  This is a must stamp set that you need to add to your wish list.  Also good scissors are needed to cut the flowers out and Stampin'up! Paper snips are simply amazing.  I'll post the products used in case you want to create my over the top card or maybe a simple version of it.  It's Thursday which means it's my last day of work for the week, I get to stamp all day Friday which makes me happy.

My over the top card :

Stamp set: Creative Elements #122645(w), #122647 (c), Disponible en Français, Eléments créatifs #124740 (w) #124742 (c)

Ink:  Early Espresso #119670, Pumpkin Pie #105216

Card stock and paper: Crumb cake cardstock #120953, Very Vanilla #101650, Early Espresso #119686, First edition Specialty designer paper #121878

Accessories and tools:  Big shot #113439, Top note die #113463, Bird Builder Punch #117191, Basic pearls #119247, Stampin up Paper Snips #103579, Dimensionals #104430, and let's not forget the envelopes #107300

Ready to Roll Baby

When I work on project that truly inspire me like my scrapbook layouts, I love to showcase them.  I am working on a wall full of canvas and projects to put down my staircase in my studio.  Tonight I am hosting a workshop/party for Lysanne and her girlfriends.  We are calling it a Sangria Night Gathering.  Some are making pages and others a card bundle.  Here is my scrapbook page I was inspired partly by Fran Sabad at convention and took some of her elements.  Fran wish you lived closer would love to stamp with you!  I am also excited because I was able to find 2 of the pictures from my crashed hard drive.  These pictures were not on facebook because I saved them for my presentation at convention but then my hard drive crashed and I thought I lost them forever.  I'll chat products details later because I want to catch a swim before the workshop.

Book your party today and get free products, I'm taking dates for August, September, October…

Also New Class layout soon available especially for you!

I started using my New Alphabet stamp sets and I am in love with this one!:  Letter It #122840(w) #122842(c)
