Christmas tags part two

I looked at my post this morning, wow was I sleepy when I wrote yesterday!  I said I had trouble creating the second tag.  I played a lot more.  I was determined to use my always artichoke big designer buttons.  I also liked the color combo of crumb cake, always artichoke, very vanilla and early espresso.  Reading this seems like I am talking about a recipe.  It's fun what stampin'up! can come up with for the names of ink colors! Here they are my second batch of Christmas tags.

I should be posting about Fall, Halloween, Back to school, but this is the mood I am in!  I will challenge myself.  Actually I am so due to create a scrapbook page for my daughters.

I have to say, looking at this picture, my waffle paper needs to be fixed.  It was pretty.  So if you get this swap from me, making sure it's all ruffled!

Christmas tag swap

This year I participated once again in my dear friend Chrystal's Holiday tag swap!  I wanted to use a color combo that would stand out.  I think I succeeded, wouldn't you say?  When you come in my home, you can see these colors everywhere.  Except for my stamping studio which is a light blue, my favorite color.  I would love for you to share with me, what is your favorite color combo?  Paula thanks for giving me a hand with those!  Paula came to borrow some ink and after finishing her project she helped me with my swap.  It was easy to design the first one but the second one, oh my!  Sometimes I can add layers like you couldn't believe.  It was becoming a little too silly!  We loved these so much that we created each one for ourselves!

These are prettier in person, I get to swap with 10 other demonstrators + 1 extra for Chrystal!  I have to confess, my mother in law decided to have a little retreat with all her granddaughters, so my girls have been gone all afternoon, for the night and part of tomorrow, I had to do some stamping.  It was so fun!  I was suppose to do major cleaning in my stamp room but I had so much fun creating different projects instead.  How do I get so messy?

Here is a close up for you.  I hope you enjoy my Christmas tags! Even if it's September, it's never to early to start your Christmas cards and tags.

I finally learned how to post with my MAC, thank you Jo-Ann for your precious time the other night.  I couldn't figure how to paste my watermark.  And I love having it there especially when my kids picture is on a page.  Good bye PC!

Had a lovely dinner tonight with my husband and some friends, now I just can't sleep so I decided to post and maybe it will make me sleepy!

Double Post today

Thanks for being patient with me.  Our 2 p c are broken and I have to admit, there are things I still don't know how to do on my mac.  I also need to thank my husband who had the tech come in today STAT!

For being so patient, my post today will be a double one and you are going to be pleased.  First of all I had created for my Sudsol swaps this first project.  It was also to be featured on Marvelous Monday's.  I just love the turn out and hope my Sudsol swappies will love it too.

Blythe was the hostess, and I have to admit she is really a sweet lady for accommodating me on such short notice.  You have to see my post on the weekend and see why I have been so busy.  Not only back to school but I have been working on something big lately.  Ok enough chatting!

The first card is for the demonstrators that participated in the swap.  I made 40 babies of these.

The second card is my upgrade and this one is for my hostess, Blythe.  Sometimes, adding just a few accessories can bring a card to the next level.  Simply elegant!

Supplies used today:

Stamp set:  Level 2 from the new Holiday mini = Peaceful Season  or also available in french Paix sur terre

Holiday Mini Catalogue Sneak Peek

Humm!  In the mood for a little teasing today!  I have been playing with my holiday mini catalog preorder.  This mini catalog becomes live for non-demonstrators on September 1st.  I do have a workshop tomorrow and we will be doing Christmas stuff.  Yes Christmas cards, pages in August.  So it put me in the mood to play with the Holiday Mini products.  I Love the new Christmas Collage Background stamp.  If you love making cards, background stamps are the basic of a great card.  I often use my background stamps that is why I keep them at reach.

Today's card is very simple:  I embossed gold embossing powder on the brush gold cardstock.  Don't forget to pass the embossing buddy on your cardstock to eliminate static and prevent little blotches of embossing powder in places you don't want.  I also used Bells & Boughs stamp set to add a greeting to the background stamp.  It was easy to place it in the square spacing because I used the clear set.

Waffle Paper is a must on your wish list,  it is so easy to play with.  I added sticky tape on the back and was able to position it like I wanted.

Then a little 2-way glue and added the Champagne glass glitter that Shelli gave us at convention.

Voila, so simple!  You can create a series of these alternating your colors:  cherry cobbler, very vanilla and brush gold cardstock.

Order your supplies starting September 1st  24/7 on line, if you are a demonstrator, you know you can order anything in the mini since August 1st.  Have you done your order?

Stamp set:  Christmas Collage #121279, Bells & Boughs # 120831 (w), 121142(c) also available in spanish

Cardstock:  Cherry Cobbler #,119685, very vanilla cardstock #101650, brushed gold cardstock #102935

Accessories:  Waffle Paper #120984, Glass Glitter in Champagne #120997, Gold embossing powder #109129

Adhesives:  2 way glue #100425, sticky tape #104294

Tools:  Heat tool #100005, embossing buddy#103083, powder pals #102197

Versamark #102283

Have a great weekend everyone, bonne fin de semaine.

Wowser Wednesday

It's the middle of the week and I wanted to share with you a wow project.  FACT:  Did you know since stampin up associated themselves with Sizzix, Sizzix had to hire 20% more employees.  We are also very lucky that stampinup has a partnership with them because they get to customize dies just for us!  The big shot has a lot of advantages and today I will show you one of them.

I made these for the 3D sudsol swap at convention, and gave one to a few special people in my stampin up life:  my trainer Ronda Wade, my SAM (service account manager) and one to stampinup.  Seriously you will love these, people would stop me to take a picture and ask questions.  A perfect gift for a hostess during Christmas time.  I will be making a few of these for my clients that book a workshop in the next 3 months.

The Pattern box , I had, It's not a die!  But you can print the pattern Here

The following materials work well when creating die cuts with the Big Shot machine and Bigz and Originals dies. Please note the maximum thickness of several materials. Christmas tags

Well I have to share that I’m having way too much fun with the Christmas products from the holiday mini catalogue and the 2009-2010 idea catalogue.  I decided to sign up for Chrystal’s tag swap for the third year in a row.  Here is what I created for my fellow swappies!

This is a tag for those large gifts that you just can’t wrap properly.  I used my favorite bigz clear die, scallop square and used the on board book basics as my background chipboard #110713 and the specialty designer series paper, christmas cocoa specialty from the mini catti.  Glued them together using my tombo glue.  I took the vintage ornaments I stencils from the definitely decorative catti and dabbed chocolate chip ink in my stencil.  I then added my second stencil and put some stencil paste to create a 3D image.  Why?  Because my husband said it wasn’t popping out enough… And he was right!  I hate to admit it but he is pretty good at commenting on my projects.  Try it with your husband let me tell you some interesting ideas come out.  My stencil paste was white but when it dried it had a little greenish color which I didn’t like at all so I dabbed some chocolate chip ink on my paste and needed to also add a little champagne mist shimmer paint.  And voilà!

Here is my close up picture!  Vintage it is.  Then I added a mini tag from the stamp set Four the holidays and I added 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon in chocolate chip.

.

Second tag was very simple and quick to do.  I saw this die at convention and had  to order it.  It’s exclusive to stampin’up!, Stampin’up! Two tags.  I decorated it with the specialty designer series paper, christmas cocoa specialty from the mini catti. When you touch this paper it feels like felt.  I punched out a snowflake from the Jumbo snowflake  punch and added some frost white shimmer paint.  Let me tell you, you can go a long way with that shimmer paint.  I have been using it like crazy!  I had to add my final touch a pearl from the pretties kit and 5/8" satin ribbon.   And for all the ladies in my group, I personalized all your tags.

I printed the names on my computer matching my ink to the stampin’up! colors RGB codes.

That is my share for the day, have a great one!

Naughty or Nice!

Tonight my daughter Megan was skating in Montreal (45min) from my home and when we came out of the arena it was dark already!!  8 o’clock and it was pitch black!  It made me think that the holidays are fast approaching.  So when I got home, I decided to make these quick cards.  It took me 2 minutes…. Really!

Are you getting ready for the holidays?

I have a few suggestions for you:

1.  Use this Simply Sent Card kit (Holiday Photo card Kit) It holds a 4×6 photo.  You can create 12 cards. It includes all the cardstock, envelopes and self adhesive die cuts.  I stamped my greeting with the new stamp set from the mini FOUR THE HOLIDAYS in real red classic ink.  And I had to add dazzling diamonds to my die cuts!  There is never enough glitter!

2.  Call me to attend one of my Holiday card classes in my studio.  I am having one event per month.

3.  Book your own party in your home so we can create with your friends the best cards ever!  Hurry my dates have already start filling.

4.  Invite your coworkers to stamp with me during their lunch time.  If you book early, I will organize a fun time lunch and learn Christmas extravaganza!

Here are my daughters in their naughty phase!

And here is the nice…

Actually got to say I prefer the nice!
