Last day of Creative Escape

Sunday was our last day of our Fall Creative Escape Retreat for 2011.  So Here is what the hall looks like at 4 am.  Yes that is how long some women stamped the night away.

I had a few cupcake cuties team member come join me for the weekend.  I love these girls.  I don't know what I would do without them. If you would like to join my team there is 4 days left for that super special that includes a free big shot or 125$ of products.  Click HERE for details.  Password is STAMPINGKIM

My last treat that I gave out on Sunday Morning was Mica Flakes treats. I filled cellophane bags #124134 from the holiday mini with mica flakes #124115.  They made great holiday treats.

The best part is bonding with friends.  I found it so touching seeing good friends stamping away, no stress, all the time in the world to chat.  Here is Deborah my downline with her daughter Brandi.

And last but not the least, I couldn't have done this weekend without my partner Marlayne.

What happens at Creative Escape…

Saturday's creative escape retreat was very exciting.  I hosted my second class which was my wow tag album.  You can view them HERE & HERE.  The girls worked really hard but the results were fabulous.  And the best part for me, is when they don't copy exactly what I have created for the class.  I love to see and get different outcomes on the projects.  Does this make any sense?  What I truly mean is that I love to get different ideas from my own design.

Here is Josee, one of my cupcake cuties working hard on finalizing her album.  I truly admire her as she participated at the entire retreat and managed to go coach skaters in between, one of them is my daughter:)

Then there was more treats.  I made these using Bitty box and Envelope bigshot die #115967, inside was stampin up surprise.  I love the different colors from the Holly Berry Bouquet #124004 designer paper.

Here are a few ladies crafting away.  They really were spoiled with an 8' table all to themselves.

Excitement was in the air when it came down to swapping.  There was lots of talented ladies + it was fun for them to get  a bunch of new designs and ideas.

Phil the clerk at the resort was a real sport!  He accepted to choose his favorite card.  It wasn't easy as women did tease him a little.  Manon Parent, one of my cupcake cuties was the Winner.  Phil choose her card among all the wonderful cards that the attendees had created.

We ended the night with pj fun.  What happened at the creative escape retreat, stays at the retreat!!!  I will refrain from exposing all the photos!  I just want to say that it was so hard to choose a winner since some had creative costumes, some made their costumes and some members of my team had cupcake pjs.  Which I always find so touching.

Here is what 4 hours of sleep can do to you!  Me acting silly!  The best part for me about these retreats is spoiling our attendees and getting to know them better.

What a great weekend

Marlayne Hardy and I had a lovely time, hosting our Third Creative Escape Retreat this past weekend.  It's already over and our guests are already excited for the next one.  Here are a few highlights from this fabulous weekend. Today I will be posting about Friday Night!  This event started off with a bang!! Stampers arrived early to get in line to check in.  First treat was a bag of goodies and attached was a tag that I made using the Holiday stocking die #124098 in early espresso card stock.

I also Love the DEAR SANTA stamp set from the Holiday mini #123832(w) #123834(c) That is where I got the To:  From: to stamp on the tag.

Marlayne used my digital studio to design the seating assignment.  She did such a wonderful job, I always keep mine as a souvenir!

My Advent Holiday calendar class took place on Friday!  They worked really hard but left with a great piece of art!

Then it was time for treats, Stampin'up! treats and Yummy edible treats.  Marlayne crafted the first stampinup! goodies.

If you would like to join us for our 4th retreat, simply email me, it's already more than half full, we will have a waiting list if it fills up to quickly! It will take place on March 30th,31st & April 1st 2012.  And if you can't wait that long to stamp with me, then I do have my semi-annual technique retreat on November 5th.  View details: HERE

Scrapbooking Layout

I have been going through lots of emotions in the last few days.  My daughter Megan is going to be 11 on June 2nd.  To remain in the competitive levels at figure skating she needed to pass a test.  Since she had not skated a hole lot in March, I was really nervous for her to undergo this testing.  One of her coaches wanted to pull her out of competition and testing.  But last week she proved him wrong.  I needed to travel out of town for her to practice.  That meant driving 1 1/2 hour back and forth so she could get ice time since there is no more ice in our local town.  Last Saturday, she made it to competition.  Her skating had been solid all week.  As she is getting older, nerves started interfering with performance.  You probably think why am I making her do this?  Well I am not!  I have asked her and Megan persists, she loves it!  Anyway, she had two numbers at different competitive levels.  The first one was a bit shaky but she said to me don't worry, I am going to do well for the next one.  "The next one" was the important one, the one that was counting for testing. Well she was right, it was her best skate, she beat her own personal score and Megan passed her test.  wohooo!

Why am I sharing this with you?  Well because I have shared with Megan that the test she was undergoing and the competition she was doing shouldn't stress her as much.  That she should only focus on herself & compete against herself, beat her own personal score & skate her best skate!  We all dream big sometimes, anyway I do! This entire week of supporting Megan has made me realize that I, myself should follow the advice I have given Megan.  Do you follow your own advice?  Sometimes, we get so busy that we don't even take the time to reflect on our own accomplishments.  We set goals, we accomplish them & then we need to celebrate our accomplishments. After it's time to make new goals.  I hope I made you reflect a little, do you have goals, do you dream big?  Don't ever let anything or anyone step in the way of your dreams:)

Here is Megan, after competition: she was super excited and I was relieved and the knots in my stomach disappeared. As for goals for myself, I went for my first run outside and was able to do my 6k like I did last year.  Yeah! it had been almost 9 months since I ran outside!  I was super happy & plan on achieving new goals.

Now for the fun!  There is not much time left for the Occasion's Mini.  I have used Botanical Gazette Designer paper #121783 for so many creations.  Here are two of the pages I designed for the retreat.  I was in charge of making 4 scrapbook pages and Marlayne was in charge of 4 cards.

Here are the first two pages, I will try to take better pics but today the camera hasn't been cooperating with me:(  I want to highlight how I love the beveled windowpanes #121881.  These are great to highlight pictures and stamped images.

Here is Jordan fishing with my dad!

Here is my sweetie with his manly toy, last year on Father's Day

And here is one of the beveled windowpanes #121881 I was talking about.  I will post full pages and add the other two very soon.

Creative Escape Highlights

Blogging about our Creative Escape Weekend retreat makes me smile!  For instance the picture of Jo Ann with her lamp.  She found this beauty for the retreat and everyone wanted it.  Even I :) It was this fully loaded lamp (clip board, lighting, magnifying glass) We should of named it since it was so popular:)

I also challenged myself to make swaps from a stamp set Travel Log of the current Summer Mini.  I received this stamp at Manager's reception at leadership.  For my swap, I used the color coach #122228 for a masculine color combo.  The color coach tool is very Impressive, it's a must on your wish list:)

Breakfast was cozy, here is Louise and Julie enjoying a cup of coffee.

And let's not forget Stampin'up! Fabric. Treats for everyone!

Here are a few pics of attendees, a bunch of creative women:)

I got to take pictures of most of you during the weekend!  Thanks ladies for sharing this Special Weekend away from your families to be with Marlayne and I.   I hope we get to see you at our Fall Creative Escape Retreat, October 21st, 22nd and 23rd. xoxox

Highlights from our Creative Escape Weekend

This past weekend Marlayne Hardy and I hosted our 2nd Creative Escape Weekend!  I really enjoyed organizing this event, the "creative juices" were flowing at the RiverRock Inn in Rockland!  It was a bitter sweet weekend as Stampin up!  was hosting a half day regional in Montreal, 1 hour away from home!  We had already booked our weekend of fun.  So some team members attended the Regional and others our weekend event.  In all, the weekend was wonderful, the friendships, the smiles, and the creativity was in the ballroom.

On Friday, everyone was greeted with a cute bag with matching tag.(I need to find a pic, it was so cute) Marlayne made personal table setting and a matching welcome sign with My Digital Studio.  The first night started for some guests with a canvas class, others were already stamping away.  Then we spoiled them with treats, Spring time cupcakes with a splash of butterfly die!  Oh did I have fun making these with my wonderful helper Lysanne!

Then I made the second treat for them, cute cupcake boxes.  Oh Shelli had a challenge on her blog about cupcakes for the month of March and I couldn't spoil the beans then.  But now that our retreat is over, I can show you pics.  These cupcakes had special treats inside.  Oh and here is a pick of me acting silly:) And swapping was a Must!  You can also check out our creative table, we got to pic a few winners, it was so hard to choose.

Yummy food, an evening of entertainment, team work, the competition was running at a high level!

Wait there is more, but I will save it for another day:)  I had lots of fun and am going to cherish the time and the stories shared with all the ladies who attended.  Posting about our creative escape weekend makes me anxious for our Fall retreat:)
