Creative Escape Sneak Peek #3

It's been a great productive week.  The more I create, more ideas keep flowing.  I love it.  Our Creative Escape retreat is in exactly two weeks.  I have accomplished lots and still have more to do.  I can't wait to share with you after the retreat.  If you aren't attending this one, I hope you can just us next time.

A few days back I had posted my first Sneak Peek of one of the classes I was offering at our Creative Escape Retreat.  It was a Fall Wow scrapbook.  You can view it HERE.  I have given my guest the option to do the Fall version or a Holiday Version.  Here is my share of my Holiday Wow tag scrapbook.  I can't wait to add more than 24 Family Pictures in this album.

Hello Doily Christmas Card

I love background stamps.  They make a card so beautiful and you don't really need to add much to a project.  When I saw the Hello, Doily background stamp set I was over the moon.  A stamp set like Hello, Doily speaks for itself.  Last night at my Christmas class one of my guest made a beautiful page with it.  It wasn't a Christmas Page but it inspired me to make a card for today's share.  I love how this stamp is so versatile, from simply elegant to holiday projects, this baby is a must in your stamp space.  You probably can't see very well but this card is 5×5, therefore it is a large stamp set.

I used the scallop square die with the Frostwood lodge designer paper.  Another great die to use with your big shot.  And you can get your own big shot or 125$ of free products when you sign up as a demonstrator.   Ask me how or join HERE.

If you are recreating a 5 x 5 card, don't forget the Medium Square envelopes #107289

Hello Doily background stamp #122845

Creative Escape Sneak Peek Class 2

Let the countdown begin.  In 16 days, Marlayne and I are hosting our 3rd Creative Escape Retreat.  We host in Spring and Fall.  I get especially excited in the Fall because I get to make Holiday projects for our guests.  I am honored to host 2 classes at the retreat.  The first one was my Fall Wow scrapbook which you can view HERE and now you get a sneak peek of the second class.

I have always wanted to make an Advent calendar and didn't know where to start.  This year I am amazed that Stampin up! came up with products in the Holiday Mini to make one.  The Stamp set 25 & Counting or in french J-25 and the new Peekaboo Frame Bigz Die are the perfect and easy way to create one.  I could not pass up this opportunity:)  I was going to make it on a canvas so my guests could make one at a reasonable price.  But then Stampin up! came up with great products on the clearance rack, which included the Chunky Frame.  It's been one of my favorite products and I was sad when stampin up retired the frame.  So now that it's back for limited quantities and at a cheap price, I jumped on the occasion.  And suddenly I thought to myself, I will use the chunky frame to make my advent calendar.

And voila! the outcome:

I loved how easy it was to create the opening frames, the peekaboo Frame Bigz L die was perfect for that.  And now until the end of October, Stampin up has offered the Big Shot for FREE or 125$ of FREE product, when you join my family of demonstrators in October.  Learn how to get this sweet deal HERE

The chunky frames are great to work with because you can add any designer paper to decorate the frame.  It's simple you just cut your paper and glue it to the frame.   I used Frostwood Lodge Designer Paper.

I am truly grateful of this beauty and will display it every year during the Holidays.  I especially love Day 25, which is our family picture and wishes Happy Holidays.

You can view or purchase the Chunky Frame on my clearance rack by clicking HERE and selecting clearance rack on the left.  This item has limited quantities and you might want to get one asap.

If you are attending our Creative Escape Retreat then this is a class you don't want to miss, email me.

Follow up on my birthday organizer

Ok this is the last time you will read about my birthday calendar.  I intended to post last night but we finished a little bit late:)  I am overwhelmed by your response to add your name to my birthday organizer and let me tell you, I need to start making the cards this weekend, as I do have birthday cards to send out on Monday, so it can hopefully make it on time for your early birthdays.  But I did want to share with you a few of my favorite months.  I used stamps sets that were dear to me and also that coordinated with the months.  Some we added ribbon, designer paper and other embellishments.  I guess my favorites were the simple ones.  I don't know why because normally I don't do good with simple.

March's Featured stamp set: Forever Young #122570 (w) #122572(c)

April's Featured Stamp set:  Up, Up & Away #122755(w) #122757(c)

June's Featured Stamp set:  The Open Sea #123030(w) #123032(c)

July, my birthday month's Featured stamp set: Creative Elements #122645(w) #122647(c)

And November's Featured stamp set:  Gently Falling #123802 (w) #123804(c)

You can view my cover album:  HERE and HERE

Class to go is also available but does not include shipping, shipping cost is additional. Available in English or Français.

I should have posted them last night but again, we did finish a little late and I did need to recharge my batteries on my camera.  It would have been a great night to post as I did not go to bed until 1h30 am.  Why?  Because my hostess brought lots of treats and we attacked them all like children that had never eaten candy before.  Note to self, do not eat the candy!  It got me so hyper!

On a side note, I did receive your requests for the Christmas in September pdf and there are two ways for your to get my class:

Baby Thoughts

As I went to the hospital today to check on my charts, and baby kits, I visited my friend and downline Jennifer.  Mike and Jen are expected their 4 baby.  She has 3 boys at home and is expecting baby #4, and doesn't have a clue what she is expecting.  I am just praying for a healthy baby and easy labor!  9 days over due and still smiling.  I truly admire her.  Jen has triggered my baby thoughts.  No no not the ones you are thinking.  Tony would flip knowing I had baby thoughts!  What I mean is baby stamping thoughts.  I started by stamping a few cards in neutral tones since I don't know what Jen is having.  But if she is having a girl, you know I will go all out in pink and save this one for someone else:)  I am also going to create gifts for her and the baby with my stamping products and match them with my card.  Jen, I will be thinking of you tonight:)

Spice cake designer paper has an awesome color combo that I couldn't resist for this card:  Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Soft Suede.  If you have trouble creating great color combination then I would suggest you getting the Color Coach #120148.

Supplies used to create my baby card :

Stamp set: Fox & Friends #117020(w) #118565(c), Tiny Tags #228091(w), #118592(c)

Ink:  Soft Suede # 115657, Pear Pizzazz #119784, Pool Party #122938

Card stock and paper: Soft Suede # 124298 , Pool Party # 122924,  Very Vanilla #101650, Pear Pizzazz #119795

Day 3 Founder’s

All I can say is Wow!  Spent a beautiful day in Kanab, touring the manufacturing facility and enjoying a picnic at the park where chopped rubber is laying on the ground instead of sand.  Visiting Kanab has so far been my favorite part of Founder's Circle!  I got really emotional when we got to the manufacturing facility.  All the staff was waiting outside to greet us.  They really love what they do, I guess as much as I love being a demonstrator.  They had all stamped their name tags and spoke about their job with such pride.  I am surprised how reasonable the prices of our stamps sets are with all the tremendous work that goes into making them.  I even participated on the front line, cutting the rubber and packaging …  We even got a free stamp set and they were so happy to give it to us.  It's a stamp set from the 2012 occasion mini.  It was truly a day to remember and I will treasurer this forever.

I even got to visit Shelli's apt in Kanab, it is beautiful and feels like home!

Sterling and Shelli donated recycled rubber for the local park in Kanab.  When I walked in it, it had a bouncing feeling, kids were sure having a great time here.  There was even rubber on the ground in the volleyball area.

Here we are, most of the Canadians that attended Founder's

In the evening, we got to attend a musical, the Little Mermaid at Tuacahn, a breathtaking scenery!

When I got back to my room, a beautiful handmade beau chateau apron was awaiting in our SU box.  I just wanted to scream:)  So excited.

I also wanted to share a special gift that we received last night, on pj/share night.  It was a journal made with my digital studio.

And here we are on share night in pj, Kay Smith, Ronda Wade, Marlayne Hardy and I

Ribbon of Hope, remembering

This morning as I was driving down town Ottawa, I was listening to the radio, as tears ran down my face I listen and remembered 10 years ago on this day, I was 7 months pregnant, carrying my sweet Lauren.  I remember freezing still after chasing Megan my 15 old month toddler, when I saw on TV the tragic events from 9/11.  I cannot believe that it as already been 10 years.  I listened on the radio children's testimony of the parent that was lost in this sad tragedy, which they have never met because like me their mother's were pregnant and lost their spouse in 9/11.  It is such a blessing that my dear Lauren was able to know and grow with both of her parents.

Here are a few quotes commemorating the occasion:

“Ten years have passed since a perfect blue sky morning turned into the blackest of nights. Since then we’ve lived in sunshine and in shadow, and although we can never unsee what happened here, we can also see that children who lost their parents have grown into young adults, grandchildren have been born and good works and public service have taken root to honor those we loved and lost.” — New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, speaking at the memorial service in New York.

“I haven’t stopped missing my dad. He was awesome … I wish my dad had been there to teach me how to drive, ask a girl out on a date and see me graduate from high school and a hundred other things I can’t even begin to name … I hope that I can make my father proud of the young men that my brother and I have become.” — Peter Negron, whose father, Pete, died in the World Trade Center, speaking at the memorial service in New York.

“Moira sacrificed all that she had and all the richness of life that still lay in front of her in order to save just one more person. Moira was killed when the south tower collapsed … Today we choose to remember and share the joy Moira brought to all of us, and we vow that she will always live in our hearts.” — Retired New York Police officer James Smith, whose wife, New York Police officer Moira Smith, was killed on Sept. 11, 2001, speaking in New York.

“So many names, there is barely room on the walls of the heart.” — Former Poet Laureate Billy Collins, “The Names,” read by former New York Governor George Pataki at the service.

“May your soul finally rest in peace. Your son Nathan and I, as the years go by, grow strong. Goodbye, my dear friend, my teacher and my hero.” — Candy Glazer, whose husband Edmund Glazer was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 11, speaking at the memorial service in New York.

Today I dedicate my card to all the people who lost a family member, friend and the fire fighters, police officers and response teams in the 9/11 tragedy.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

The ribbon of hope is a great stamp #115552 because it is THE awareness ribbon as we can use our stampin up ink and change it to the cause that is dear to us.  Today I chose purple (rich razzleberry) it represents the victims of 9/11 including the police officers and fire fighters.

Here is what I found on the internet:

I don't know if it's cooler in your area but it sure is here.  Which reminds me that Fall is just around the corner and my favorite season.  Why?  I love the comfort food, knitted sweaters, the cooler breeze, apple picking with the girls and the change in the color of the Canadian Maple trees.  Today, I decided to change the Summer wreaths on my two front doors for my Fall wreaths.  The girls started school last Monday, I on the other hand have organized most of my Fall Classes.  You should check it out HERE and sign up before all the spots are filled up.  Plus, I added a kids/Tween class so pass the word around because my kids sure want a monthly kids class with new friends.  I have been creating in my studio a few Fall projects.  The kids and friends have been playing dress up which has inspired me to start creating for Halloween/Fall projects.  Here are a few pics.  Before you say anything, I had nothing to do with these costumes.  It was all them.  I just snap the shots and was laughing enough that my stomach was aching, aching in a good way!

From left to right, here is Jeremy the Yo Man, Megan, Meg's Friend Madison an avatar and Lauren a mime

Jeremy, Megan and Madison.  So bizarre to have a little girl with black hair.

Here is Megan, she was my inspiration for this month's hostess gift.  I decided to go with a classic, simple yet elegant look = Black and White.  I have created a monogram hostess card box and it includes 4 cards with envelops. If you book a party with me in September, you get your personalized monogram box with 4 cards.  BOOK HERE!

I love the Lovely letters alphabet and the new vintage stamp set Established Elegance.  1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon in basic black is simply adorable, these ribbon are wonderful to use because they are wider than average ribbon and they coordinate with Stampin up! colors.  You can still sign up for my ribbon club HERE, check them out.  To get a few meters of all 11 colors.  This card is truly simple but what makes in stand out is the Elegant Lines textured embossing folder embossed with the big shot on the whisper white cardstock.  I truly love the products used and hope my September hostesses will love them two.
