Happy national scrapbooking day!

I'm a little early, but May is just around the corner!  May is national scrapbook month! This Saturday so happens that I'm hosting my spring fling scrapbooking day! Although, I wasn't planning on showing sneak peeks prior to the event, I have two new  openings… so if you want to attend let me know:) I love scrapbooking.  It's a great way to get together with friends and socialize while preserving memories.  I included in my guests goodie bag a journaling pen.  I think writing down the events of that special page is just so memorable for the person reading it. I used Stampin up! retired 12 x12 linen album.  I love to decorate my albums and always put a twist on things and add an extra technique.  You might want to check on the retired list and the clearance rack.  Stampin up always has great deals.  The clearance rack contains new items at a very good price.  See my link below.

My album contains products that are moving forward in the new 2017-2018 catalogue and some items are retiring.  The pop of pink specialty dsp is on the retiring list.  I loved the combination of black, white, gold and pink designs it contains. I'm sad to see that the so detailed thinlits dies are retiring as well.  I loved the detailed it brought to my cards and pages.  Here is one of the cards I made using these thinlits.  Click HERE. If you were to see my album up close, you would notice the glitter on my ferns from the butterfly basics stamp set. I used the wink of stella in clear for that  shine, glittery image. I love that stuff, wish it came in bigger containers!!!!

When I attended the on stage event in Amsterdam, I learned a new term = fussy cutting!!! So I detailed cut out my ferns since no thinlits exist for these.  I hope my guests will like fussy cutting 🙂

So if you want to participate this weekend or want the class to go, please email me.  I have two spots that opened up! You are welcome to forward my message to a friend:)

Details below:

If you are a scrapbook lover just like me, you don’t want to miss my spring fling Stamp-a-rama. We will be making a 12×12 album, special cover Kim style. This fun day includes an album, 12 pages and protectors, a large goodie bag with all your products and catered lunch/snacks.  Save the date:  April 29thfrom 9 to 4pm. Places are limited. I’ll be hosting in my home.  Total fee is $99.  If you want this class to go cost is $140 (includes shipping) for pick up $125.

I’m so excited, hope you can join me.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but the memories are priceless….

Out with the old, in with the new

This weekend, I took the time to gather from my studio all the retiring items  that Stampin up! released in their retired list. I’ve challenged myself to create projects with these items before  you  start ordering from the New Stampin up! catalog at the beginning of June.  If you want me to reserve a copy of the new catalogue, simply send me an email.  It’s very dear to me to have a copy for my customers.   I’ve also already ordered products from the new catalogue and needed to make room for my new goodies.  This is one of the perks from attending on stage and all demonstrators will also be able to order in May.  We are so excited to have this opportunity to make cute projects for you before the official release!

Today, I chose the Help me grow stamp set #140764. This was the one stamp that I was most upset when I saw the list. But on the positive side, I also ordered in my pre order something exciting and similar.  Therefore, sometimes you have to let go of certain things as better things are ahead🙂  The stamp set coordinates with the Rose Garden Thinlits #140619.

I also used the gold wink of stella glitter brush #141898 for the center of my flowers.  This item is also retiring.  But the clear wink of stella #141897 that I used on my petals is not retiring, thankfully!  It brings a glitter to your project.

The basic pearls will return but in a different format.  Therefore, you will also find these on the retired list #199247.  I added three on my card to balance my project.

My color combo consisted of pool party, very vanilla and crushed curry.  It’s a beautiful combo that you will see in the new catalogue.  By the way, demonstrators get their new catties before customers.  Another perk of being a demonstrator!  I initially joined for the discount 10 + years ago but realized there were so many other perks.  If you’d like more details, please feel free to email me.  If you join in May, you can pick items from the new catalogue for your starter kit.  That’s $165 of product for only $135.  No tax, no shipping:)

here is another of my samples using the help me grow stamp set:)

Don't forget to view all the amazing products from the retiring list.  Order on my online store or email me your order.

I hope you enjoyed my help me grow cards and that you are inspired to use the retired products before they are gone for good! Happy stamping!

Exciting news!

I've been missing posting on my blog.  But the truth is, I've been busy accomplishing an event on my bucket list.  I was in Europe visiting Switzerland and Amsterdam.  I attended a 3 day Stampin up! event in Amsterdam. Visiting the place my mother was born was a dream come true and finding out part of my heritage also.  Stampin up has brought on so many positives in my life since I joined 10 and half years ago.  The friendships will always remain number 1.  On this trip and event, I can confirm I have new friends from all over the world:)

Here are a couple of pics from my time visiting Amsterdam!

For my card below, I used one of my favorite retiring colors, mint macaroon.  I've attached the list of retiring products.  Some have discounts up to 50% off.  The sale started on Monday, and already products are running out!!!  It saddens me that some of my favorite products are retiring.  But to console myself, I have the new 2017-2018 catalogue and it contains so many new and exciting products.  Plus the layout of the new catalogue is amazing.  Email me to reserve your copy!

The list of products used is noted below. One of the first techniques I learned when I started stamping is called sponging. The best color to sponge with is soft suede.

Don't forget to view all the amazing products from the retiring list.  Order on my online store or email me your order.

I hope you enjoyed my mint macaron card and that you are inspired to use the retired products before they are gone for good! Happy stamping!

So succulent love

So we spring into April shortly. There are not too many days left before Sale-a-bration is over.  Did you get all the FREE exclusive products that you wanted? The good news is that the occasion's catalogue doesn't end until May 31st.  On Wednesday, I'll be showcasing in my studio new techniques with the so succulent bundle.  Here is a sneak peek.  Although the succulent garden dsp has many wonderful colors, I only highlighted a selected few to keep my cards monochromatic.
My 4 different designs might look similar but I've highlighted different techniques.
I also made a cute mini magazine holder to store the cards and envelops. It's a perfect hostess gift.
Kim's favorite product:
My favorite product used to make these cards is definitely the stitched shapes framelits that coordinate with the layering squares, circles and ovals framelits dies.
How to make the colored paste?

Here is a sneak peek of one of the cards, we'll be making.

How to create the paste mint macaron hearts:

  •  mixed embossing paste with one drop of mint macaron ink refill
  • apply over the decorative mask (stencil)
  • remove the stencil
  • let dry
  • and voila

Tip use the wonderful block from the paper pumpkin kit as a base to mix your paste and inks. I used mint macaron refill #138331

Here is a close up look.  It creates wonderful texture to a card.  I used the hearts & stars decorative masks #133777 (the heart stencil) and it's only $4!

Sweet baby girl card

My apologies for my brief post and images in the next couple of days. I'm away from my computer and blogging on a phone is not the ideal scenario!

A couple weeks ago, I completed baby cards for parents to be. This one was for a girl but you could easily complete it for a boy in blue tones like marina mist or island indigo. The baby bear  stamp set has 7 greetings you could use for various occasions. It's a stamp set that involves two step stamping, creating shades for the bear.

I used the large polka dot embossing folder for my background.  My embellishment combo consisted of very vanilla 1/2" lace trim, linen thread, classy designer buttons and my fav. delicate white doilies.

Some extra goodies from me:*** When you order in my online store, add hostess code: ZC7CZ4HE. This will give you an extra 5 samplers cards from occasion's catalogue products created by myself, mailed directly to you… If you join my team and purchase the starter kit: Receive 2 PDF's from my occasion's event…

Love notes for that special someone

The sealed with love stamp set and coordinating framelits from the occasion catalogue is the perfect combo with This Christmas designer series paper from the annual catalogue.  Love notes are not just for Valentine's Day, you can treat your special someone all year long.  A special someone can be just anybody: a friend, a co worker, a teacher, a child or grand child or that special person that you share life with and love with all your heart.  Everyone loves getting love notes and cards! I still get overjoyed when Stampin'Up! main office send me a card.  We all prefer being acknowledged for something positive!  Walking to the mailbox and getting a hand stamped card is 100x better than getting bills. lol

I made these cards for a swap that I'm participating with other fellow demonstrators but I also made these cards for the demonstrators on my team.  Each of them got a personal message.  Personally, I don't think it takes much to put a smile on someone's face and brighten their day:)  Anyway that is my point of view…

– I used the banners framelits with This Christmas designer paper.  I die cut 2 pieces per banner to make it longer than the die itself.  Then, I glued them one under the other.  You can barely see the two pieces because the whisper white solid baker's twine is hiding the seam.

– I also applied soft suede ink with the stamping sponge on the die cut banners.

– I used my basic black stampin' write marker and gave it a "flick" on the large sided tip.  "I recommend you wear gloves for this if you don't want your fingers inked up".

– All the other products are detailed below.

This card can be in your stash of cards given to you from me if you place an order in my online store or via email. during sale-a-bration.  That is an extra included with your free sale-a-bration products.  See details below.   If you want a lot of products because the occasions catalogue is so so amazing, I suggest you get the starter kit.  You would get $165 of products for $135 and free shipping plus two extra sale-a-bration products!!!  It is such an amazing deal!!!

So hard to let go

I hope you've enjoyed your holidays. I've taken some time off and it feels wonderful. When Stampin'up releases the retiring list of products from a catalogue, I always cringe my teeth… I have trouble letting go of my retired favorites… I use to keep them anyway but now I only keep a selected few… Being a demonstrator for over 10 years has made my stash of SU products pretty big. If I kept all my stampin products, I would need to upgrade the size of my craft room… Us demonstrators have great perks, like free goodies, bonus and a discount on our products, hence the reason I have a great and big supply of goodness… You might want to check in during the Sale-a-bration period that starts on January 4th, the starter kit has a great deal going down…  There has never been a better time to join either for the discount or to start your own business.

The holiday catalogue is coming to an end on January 3rd, just like the holiday are almost over.  I've shifted from making holiday projects, to winter projects… I'm loving the Mountain Adventure stamp set… This is one stamp set that I'm keeping in my retired stash… Skiing is a big part of our family activities and I know this set will be useful for a very long time.  I've design this scrapbook page below for my January scrapbook club, if you would like to attend, I'm hosting on January 11th.  If you live too far then take advantage of my kit to go.  The kit to go includes the Mountain Adventure stamp set.  You have until January 3rd to sign up.

I wanted to include so many pictures… There wasn't enough space for my journaling.  To resolve this issue, I added flip pockets to incorporate my journaling. The linen thread kept the pockets closed.  Another idea would be to use magnets…

The embellishments from the holiday catalogue were pretty amazing as well.  I love glittery things.  The tins of tags project kit includes these star and circle sequins.  I added them using the Fine tip glue pen.  I also added white mica flakes to my mountains.

Here is a view of the inside of my pockets.  I stamped the inside and colored the stamp images with my new watercolor crayons that are coming in the new occasion catalogue.  This is one of the perks of being a demonstrator, we can pre order the new goodies from the next catalogue. If you don't have the new crayons, you can use the ink off of your ink pads.  I just press my ink pad down so the ink transfers to the inside of the lid.

On my previous post, I talked about how much I love the large letters framelits. This time I embossed my letters with softly falling textured impression embossing folder.  Adding texture to the letters made the title pop out.  I also added more white mica flakes…

Tip: When I want to display a scrapbook page, I get a 12×12 canvas at my local craft store and mount the page to it.  It's perfect for wall art or even to display on a shelf.  This page will make it to my scrapbook wall for sure… The color combo is perfect for my display area.

Join a stamping club

I've been scrapbooking for over 10 years now.  I recently took out my scrapbooking albums.   I couldn't even recall completing so many pages.  As you know, I have 3 daughters.  I started stamping after Jordan was born.  Therefore, I don't have a perfect album of every year and every occasion.  I just go with the flow and pick one picture that inspires me.  Sometimes I have a theme and sometimes I don't.  It just depends on how I feel that day.  The best part of all those pages was reading the content.  It took me back to those memories.  I recently created this page of Jordan.  She was 2 1/2 years old.  This photo was taken by our local newspaper.  She was attending day care and Santa had come to visit with presents.  On the right side, I used the detailed to santa thinlits dies.  I created a tab that opens and on the inside, I journaled.  Jordan will be able to read why she was so happy that day.

Writing a title can be so easy with the Large Letters framelits dies #141712.  They are the bomb!  I've embossed the O by inking my cardstock with versamark then added embossing powder and heated it.

If you would like to update your albums and start creating scrapbook pages.  Send me your name to join my monthly group.  Cost is 25$ and includes products.   We start on January 11th at 630 pm. Can't make it because you live too far.  If you are Canadian, join my stamping in the mail club.  You will receive your package at home and can stamp in your pjs.

Don't forget to sign up for Jo-Ann and I's occasion event planned for February, early bird pricing ends on December 18th which is today.  We are more than half full but still have room for you.  Jo-Ann has created a fabulous certificate and if you prefer asking your family or friends a voucher for our event for Christmas, the option is available to you.  See voucher below.
