Valentine or all occasions?

We are expecting 25 cm of snow!  I'm predicting another snow day!  If the weather continues like this, the girls will be missing lots of school days this year!  Snow days for me are a blessing because I don't need to commute out of town! I'm having so much fun in the studio creating new projects and experimenting on new techniques. There are only a few days left before Valentine's Day! If you have no projects ready yet, then you should check my business Facebook page. Tomorrow is my second day/class, creating valentine's day projects that could also be any occasions projects!

Join me tomorrow, February 12th in my studio at 130 pm for some stamping fun!

Attend the sending love class hosted by Kim & Jordan.
This card class is perfect for ladies, gentlemen and kiddies! We will be making cards featuring the sending love suite. This class is perfect for all occasions not just Valentine's Day! It includes a goodie bag of products from the sending love suite.

The delicate details stamp set is amazing for borders.  It's free with a $60 order, check the sale a bration catalogue for more examples with this stamp set.

Sweet baby girl card

My apologies for my brief post and images in the next couple of days. I'm away from my computer and blogging on a phone is not the ideal scenario!

A couple weeks ago, I completed baby cards for parents to be. This one was for a girl but you could easily complete it for a boy in blue tones like marina mist or island indigo. The baby bear  stamp set has 7 greetings you could use for various occasions. It's a stamp set that involves two step stamping, creating shades for the bear.

I used the large polka dot embossing folder for my background.  My embellishment combo consisted of very vanilla 1/2" lace trim, linen thread, classy designer buttons and my fav. delicate white doilies.

Some extra goodies from me:*** When you order in my online store, add hostess code: ZC7CZ4HE. This will give you an extra 5 samplers cards from occasion's catalogue products created by myself, mailed directly to you… If you join my team and purchase the starter kit: Receive 2 PDF's from my occasion's event…

Love notes for that special someone

The sealed with love stamp set and coordinating framelits from the occasion catalogue is the perfect combo with This Christmas designer series paper from the annual catalogue.  Love notes are not just for Valentine's Day, you can treat your special someone all year long.  A special someone can be just anybody: a friend, a co worker, a teacher, a child or grand child or that special person that you share life with and love with all your heart.  Everyone loves getting love notes and cards! I still get overjoyed when Stampin'Up! main office send me a card.  We all prefer being acknowledged for something positive!  Walking to the mailbox and getting a hand stamped card is 100x better than getting bills. lol

I made these cards for a swap that I'm participating with other fellow demonstrators but I also made these cards for the demonstrators on my team.  Each of them got a personal message.  Personally, I don't think it takes much to put a smile on someone's face and brighten their day:)  Anyway that is my point of view…

– I used the banners framelits with This Christmas designer paper.  I die cut 2 pieces per banner to make it longer than the die itself.  Then, I glued them one under the other.  You can barely see the two pieces because the whisper white solid baker's twine is hiding the seam.

– I also applied soft suede ink with the stamping sponge on the die cut banners.

– I used my basic black stampin' write marker and gave it a "flick" on the large sided tip.  "I recommend you wear gloves for this if you don't want your fingers inked up".

– All the other products are detailed below.

This card can be in your stash of cards given to you from me if you place an order in my online store or via email. during sale-a-bration.  That is an extra included with your free sale-a-bration products.  See details below.   If you want a lot of products because the occasions catalogue is so so amazing, I suggest you get the starter kit.  You would get $165 of products for $135 and free shipping plus two extra sale-a-bration products!!!  It is such an amazing deal!!!

So hard to let go

I hope you've enjoyed your holidays. I've taken some time off and it feels wonderful. When Stampin'up releases the retiring list of products from a catalogue, I always cringe my teeth… I have trouble letting go of my retired favorites… I use to keep them anyway but now I only keep a selected few… Being a demonstrator for over 10 years has made my stash of SU products pretty big. If I kept all my stampin products, I would need to upgrade the size of my craft room… Us demonstrators have great perks, like free goodies, bonus and a discount on our products, hence the reason I have a great and big supply of goodness… You might want to check in during the Sale-a-bration period that starts on January 4th, the starter kit has a great deal going down…  There has never been a better time to join either for the discount or to start your own business.

The holiday catalogue is coming to an end on January 3rd, just like the holiday are almost over.  I've shifted from making holiday projects, to winter projects… I'm loving the Mountain Adventure stamp set… This is one stamp set that I'm keeping in my retired stash… Skiing is a big part of our family activities and I know this set will be useful for a very long time.  I've design this scrapbook page below for my January scrapbook club, if you would like to attend, I'm hosting on January 11th.  If you live too far then take advantage of my kit to go.  The kit to go includes the Mountain Adventure stamp set.  You have until January 3rd to sign up.

I wanted to include so many pictures… There wasn't enough space for my journaling.  To resolve this issue, I added flip pockets to incorporate my journaling. The linen thread kept the pockets closed.  Another idea would be to use magnets…

The embellishments from the holiday catalogue were pretty amazing as well.  I love glittery things.  The tins of tags project kit includes these star and circle sequins.  I added them using the Fine tip glue pen.  I also added white mica flakes to my mountains.

Here is a view of the inside of my pockets.  I stamped the inside and colored the stamp images with my new watercolor crayons that are coming in the new occasion catalogue.  This is one of the perks of being a demonstrator, we can pre order the new goodies from the next catalogue. If you don't have the new crayons, you can use the ink off of your ink pads.  I just press my ink pad down so the ink transfers to the inside of the lid.

On my previous post, I talked about how much I love the large letters framelits. This time I embossed my letters with softly falling textured impression embossing folder.  Adding texture to the letters made the title pop out.  I also added more white mica flakes…

Tip: When I want to display a scrapbook page, I get a 12×12 canvas at my local craft store and mount the page to it.  It's perfect for wall art or even to display on a shelf.  This page will make it to my scrapbook wall for sure… The color combo is perfect for my display area.

Join a stamping club

I've been scrapbooking for over 10 years now.  I recently took out my scrapbooking albums.   I couldn't even recall completing so many pages.  As you know, I have 3 daughters.  I started stamping after Jordan was born.  Therefore, I don't have a perfect album of every year and every occasion.  I just go with the flow and pick one picture that inspires me.  Sometimes I have a theme and sometimes I don't.  It just depends on how I feel that day.  The best part of all those pages was reading the content.  It took me back to those memories.  I recently created this page of Jordan.  She was 2 1/2 years old.  This photo was taken by our local newspaper.  She was attending day care and Santa had come to visit with presents.  On the right side, I used the detailed to santa thinlits dies.  I created a tab that opens and on the inside, I journaled.  Jordan will be able to read why she was so happy that day.

Writing a title can be so easy with the Large Letters framelits dies #141712.  They are the bomb!  I've embossed the O by inking my cardstock with versamark then added embossing powder and heated it.

If you would like to update your albums and start creating scrapbook pages.  Send me your name to join my monthly group.  Cost is 25$ and includes products.   We start on January 11th at 630 pm. Can't make it because you live too far.  If you are Canadian, join my stamping in the mail club.  You will receive your package at home and can stamp in your pjs.

Don't forget to sign up for Jo-Ann and I's occasion event planned for February, early bird pricing ends on December 18th which is today.  We are more than half full but still have room for you.  Jo-Ann has created a fabulous certificate and if you prefer asking your family or friends a voucher for our event for Christmas, the option is available to you.  See voucher below.

Green Christmas, not!

I guess we won't be getting a green Christmas like last year… we are expecting 10-15 cm of snow starting late this evening. I'm hoping I don't need to commute tomorrow and can work from the closest office.  I took the opportunity today to stay in my pjs and work on a couple of projects.  It felt so good to just stay home.  I'm late with my Christmas decorations and Christmas shopping.  I think this year it will be mostly online shopping!   I've been sick since mid October and finally after 10 days of antibiotics, I'm feeling like myself again.  I don't like to take antibiotics but obviously, I needed it!  Therefore, I'm much more productive since my health is improving.  My Holiday card stash is coming along.  If you would like a holiday card from me, send me your mailing address this week. I'd love to finalize my to do card list.

Below you will find a card loaded with embellishments.  I just felt like going over the top.  It's one of those cards that nothing felt right but in the end fell together.  Garden green is not one of my go to colors normally but I am trying really hard to go out of my comfort zone.

My embellishments included:

– warmth & cheer designer washi tape #141994

– mica flakes trio pack #141998, I used the white flakes and adhered them with the fine tip glue pen #138309

– pearl basic jewels #119247

– very vanilla 1/2" lace trim #141672

-warmth & cheer designer series paper stack #141991

Some of these products are on sale right now.  Click the link below with all the sales or HERE.

The other products used for this card will be at the bottom of this post.

Here are a couple of additional tips:

I used the paper piercing tool #126189 to make holes around my oval very vanilla cardstock.

I also stamped once on a scrap piece of cardstock the tree before stamping to the oval cardstock so it would be faded.

Don't forget to sign up for Jo-Ann and I's occasion event planned for February, early bird pricing ends on December 18th.  We are more than half full but still have room for you.  Jo-Ann has created a fabulous certificate and if you prefer asking your family or friends a voucher for our event for Christmas, the option is available to you.  See voucher below.

Giving back to my community

For those who know me personally, you know that I'm a public health nurse.  Since I've returned full time to work  a couple years ago, I travel out of town to work for the same agency but closer to Ottawa.  I continue doing the same work as when I was a nurse locally.  But I don't get to give as much to clients in my home town anymore.  There are different components to my job, but the one that I am most passionate about is my baby and family home visits.  I assess family's needs, it could be parenting, breastfeeding, financial struggles, you name it.  We do live in an area where poverty is on the high.  Eastern Ontario is high risk for many different reasons.  One of my tasks is to find different community resources to help family in needs.  Nothing breaks my heart more than when these families including children who have no money for food or clothing.  I do refer them to the local food banks and snow suit program.  But I know I can do more.

As I was commuting to work, I wondered, since I'm not working locally, how can I give back to my community?  Since it's the countdown for the holidays, why not host a Christmas card class where the proceeds could go to the local food bank and to buy snow suits for children in need.  The holidays are the perfect time for giving!!

So mark your calendar, on December 1st at 7 pm, I will be hosting a card class with cardholder.  Here is a sneak peek of the cards you will be making.

There are 3 different options:

Option A:  A goodie bag with a goodie bag 15$ of products, make 8 cards with holder and it includes envelops for 25$, a 10$ donation  will go to my community.

Option B:  includes option A plus the stamp set Hang your stocking also available in french for 57$, a 15$ donation will go to my community.  (pictures of the products are available at the end of this post)

Option C:  includes Option B plus the matching Christmas stocking thinlits for 99$, a 25$ donation will go to my community.  (pictures of the products are available at the end of this post)

What’s your favorite color combo?

Loving the color combo whisper white, soft suede, night of navy and the copper foil sheets! We all have these days were color combos come together.  I'd love to read what yours are.

Here is sample card from my Paisleys & posies card class in the mail.  You have until January 3rd to order this class. After that date, it will be too late.  As there ever been a time when you regretted not ordering products from the stampinup catalogue and then they retired?  As a demonstrator, I myself have made this mistake… the holiday catalogue is one of the best. I'm starting to take your Christmas wish lists, please send them to me and forward a copy to your family and friends. I will personalize and wrap your stampinup gifts.

tip: when using the copper foil sheets #142020 with the paisley framelits dies #141849, use the die brush #140603, it includes a foam pad and brush. It easily removes small cut pieces from does. Best $13.50 investment!

Did you know that if you order bundles you get to save 10%.  I love the paisley & posies stamp set and paisley framelits dies combo.
