Ahhhh my first scrapbook page of my husband and I

I love to scrapbook about my kids but for the first time I focused on a page of Tony and I.  We always have a Halloween party with different themes every year.  This year our theme was Mardi Gras.  You won't see us much with our masks as we removed them cause they were so hot.  I love the products in the mini which focused on Halloween and challenged myself to use them all.

You must think I'm crazy because it's November and I am scrapbooking about Halloween and in August I was making Christmas cards.  Well I always scrapbook with what inspires me that day.  Also at our club day we decided our theme for each month and in November, we knew we would have plenty of Halloween pictures.  You are welcome to come next month.  Our theme is Holidays and Christmas and it will be on December 28th.  It's always the 4th Tuesday of the month.  I hope to see many of you.

I had seen a scrapbook page at one of our team meetings and decided to add more elements.  I used this page at a stamp club this month.  Our theme was Halloween but I focused on textures.  Like usual you will not see all the elements in this picture, but live it is beautiful.

Texture but How?

1.  The first thing I did is wheel the midnight musings wheel with versamark on my cardstock and I took out my pastels and daubed black pastel on the versamark.  Wow I think I hadn't done that in so many years but this technique still wows me:)

2.  I added the black flourish designer jewels from the mini p8

3.  I passed the word BOO and the top note die shape with the textured embossing folder spider web on p.6 of the mini

4.  I added the black lace called raven from p.8 of the mini

5.  I also crimped the black waffle paper

6.  I punched out  bitty bat large punch and popped them with dimensionals

7.  Before adding my pictures I spritz a combination of champagne mist with rubbing alcohol

8.  One of the top note die was embossed with the spider web embossing folder and I sanded it with a sanding block to create a felt texture.

There you go 8 techniques to add texture to a page!

Have a great weekend and for my friends in the states Happy Thankgiving!

Christmas tag swap

This year I participated once again in my dear friend Chrystal's Holiday tag swap!  I wanted to use a color combo that would stand out.  I think I succeeded, wouldn't you say?  When you come in my home, you can see these colors everywhere.  Except for my stamping studio which is a light blue, my favorite color.  I would love for you to share with me, what is your favorite color combo?  Paula thanks for giving me a hand with those!  Paula came to borrow some ink and after finishing her project she helped me with my swap.  It was easy to design the first one but the second one, oh my!  Sometimes I can add layers like you couldn't believe.  It was becoming a little too silly!  We loved these so much that we created each one for ourselves!

These are prettier in person, I get to swap with 10 other demonstrators + 1 extra for Chrystal!  I have to confess, my mother in law decided to have a little retreat with all her granddaughters, so my girls have been gone all afternoon, for the night and part of tomorrow, I had to do some stamping.  It was so fun!  I was suppose to do major cleaning in my stamp room but I had so much fun creating different projects instead.  How do I get so messy?

Here is a close up for you.  I hope you enjoy my Christmas tags! Even if it's September, it's never to early to start your Christmas cards and tags.

I finally learned how to post with my MAC, thank you Jo-Ann for your precious time the other night.  I couldn't figure how to paste my watermark.  And I love having it there especially when my kids picture is on a page.  Good bye PC!

Had a lovely dinner tonight with my husband and some friends, now I just can't sleep so I decided to post and maybe it will make me sleepy!

Shoe box swap, in style

I was inspired to create this card for our team shoe box swap.  What is a shoe box swap?  You cut and prepare products for your demonstrator friends.  They go from station to station to create 10 cards.  It's fun because you come home with 10 cards designed by other demonstrators.  They have to be simple and not take more than 5 minutes to make.  I love my color combination card.  Baja breeze and real red are so stylish together.

These Candy Cane designer buttons are huge!  I could not resist and had to add a button to my card.  I also added the matching fabric with my Candy Cane button.  Another of my recent favorite or coup de coeur you would say (in french), is the tasteful trim Bigz xl die.  I used it a lot recently.  Sadly I cannot show you the projects since they are a surprise for my retreat attendees.  But I promise to post them in October!

Products used to create this card:

Stamp set:  Fireside Christmas #120827 (w) #121136 (c)

Cardstock:  Real red #102482, Baja breeze #111352 & Candy Cane Christmas Designer Series Paper #120809

Ink:  Real red #103133

Accessories:  Candy Cane Big Designer Buttons #121718, Candy Cane Christmas Designer Fabric #121715, 5/8" real red satin ribbon #117286

Big shot products:  Big shot #113439, Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die #120893, Northern Flurry embossing folder #120902

Smells like a new year

I have been quiet with the blog this week.  It's great that the kids are back to school.  For me this is like a fresh new year starting.  I reorganized my stamp sets, AGAIN!  I always do this when a new catalog comes out.  I started training at the gym again, something I use to do daily and that I had not done in a while.  Today my body is in pain.  But good pain, I love it!  I also attended team meeting yesterday and I had not gone in such a long time because I couldn't fit it in my schedule.  It felt good, I missed my demonstrator friends so much.  For me, since I join as a demonstrator, the friendships has been one of the best advantages.  Not many jobs you get a heartfelt welcome like that!  Angela made a beautiful Halloween card.  I got home and was inspired by her to make my own version.  I love ruffles and ribbon, lace and distressing, so I adapted it to my own style and taste.  It was fun to play with this card.  Love the outcome.  Thanks Angela for the inspiration!

I just love the waffle paper, it's a must.  I created a accordion fold with it and it just made this card stand out!

( Wicked Cool stamp set)

Supplies for this project:

Cardstocks:  Pear Pizzazz #119795, Basic Black #121045, Perfect Plum #101889, Whisper White # 100730

Ink:  Basic Black #101179, Whisper White # 101731 & Perfect Plum Stampin'write marker #100035

Stamps:  Wicked Cool #118738(w) #120600(c)

Accessories:  Basic Black Waffle paper #120985, 1/2" Lace Trim #120988, Spider Web Textured Impressions Embossing folder #120889

Punches:  1 3/8" circle large punch #119860, 1 1/4" circle Large punch #119861, Decorative Label Punch #120907

Note:  You can't see it clearly in the picture but I passed the basic black cardstock in the big shot with the spider web textured impressions embossing folder.  And then, the side where the web was popping up, you sponge with Whisper White Craft ink.

Tonight, it's time to play!  I should be adding final touches to my special class for the retreat I have planned for October.  I am thinking of showing a few highlights.  We will see!

Double Post today

Thanks for being patient with me.  Our 2 p c are broken and I have to admit, there are things I still don't know how to do on my mac.  I also need to thank my husband who had the tech come in today STAT!

For being so patient, my post today will be a double one and you are going to be pleased.  First of all I had created for my Sudsol swaps this first project.  It was also to be featured on Marvelous Monday's.  I just love the turn out and hope my Sudsol swappies will love it too.

Blythe was the hostess, and I have to admit she is really a sweet lady for accommodating me on such short notice.  You have to see my post on the weekend and see why I have been so busy.  Not only back to school but I have been working on something big lately.  Ok enough chatting!

The first card is for the demonstrators that participated in the swap.  I made 40 babies of these.

The second card is my upgrade and this one is for my hostess, Blythe.  Sometimes, adding just a few accessories can bring a card to the next level.  Simply elegant!

Supplies used today:

Stamp set:  Level 2 from the new Holiday mini = Peaceful Season  or also available in french Paix sur terre

Big shot supplies:  Decorative Strip Northern Frost #120901, Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder  #120902

Punch:  Eyelet Border punch #1198553

3.  Stamp Peace on Earth on embossed crumb cake cardstock

4.  Cut  early espresso cardstock 1 1/2 by 4 and punch  on one side with the eyelet border punch

getting ready for the Holiday Mini

There are so many benefits about joining the Stampin'up! Family.  One of them is the preorder.  What does a preorder mean?  One month before a new mini or Catalogue is to be released to the public, we demonstrators from hobbiest to top leaders get to order products and play with them ahead of time.  I always do the happy dance when that comes along.  It also get me ready to swap with other demonstrators to find ideas for all of you for future classes.

My angel Lysanne and I planned out these cards for a swap that I am participating in.  I used supplies from our 2010-2011 catalog and from the new Holiday Mini coming out September 1st.

Book your Christmas Card class  or if you would like to purchase the starter kit as a hobbiest or to make extra money like I do,  email me today!  The first one to schedule a card party and the first one to email me about the starter kit gets a FREE gift.  HINT:  holiday mini.  Stampin up has challenged the Canadian demonstrators to have a new team member join our family.  What's in it for you or me?  We get expedite shipping, that means we get our poducts the same week as we ordered instead of 10-14 business day the entire month of September! wohhhhhhooooooooo! Hello! That means you get your orders from the new holiday mini the same week you ordered them!

Supplies Used:

Stamp set:  Bells & Boughs #120831(w) #121142(c)

Holiday Mini Catalogue Sneak Peek

Humm!  In the mood for a little teasing today!  I have been playing with my holiday mini catalog preorder.  This mini catalog becomes live for non-demonstrators on September 1st.  I do have a workshop tomorrow and we will be doing Christmas stuff.  Yes Christmas cards, pages in August.  So it put me in the mood to play with the Holiday Mini products.  I Love the new Christmas Collage Background stamp.  If you love making cards, background stamps are the basic of a great card.  I often use my background stamps that is why I keep them at reach.

Today's card is very simple:  I embossed gold embossing powder on the brush gold cardstock.  Don't forget to pass the embossing buddy on your cardstock to eliminate static and prevent little blotches of embossing powder in places you don't want.  I also used Bells & Boughs stamp set to add a greeting to the background stamp.  It was easy to place it in the square spacing because I used the clear set.

Waffle Paper is a must on your wish list,  it is so easy to play with.  I added sticky tape on the back and was able to position it like I wanted.

Then a little 2-way glue and added the Champagne glass glitter that Shelli gave us at convention.

Voila, so simple!  You can create a series of these alternating your colors:  cherry cobbler, very vanilla and brush gold cardstock.

Order your supplies starting September 1st  24/7 on line, if you are a demonstrator, you know you can order anything in the mini since August 1st.  Have you done your order?

Stamp set:  Christmas Collage #121279, Bells & Boughs # 120831 (w), 121142(c) also available in spanish

Cardstock:  Cherry Cobbler #,119685, very vanilla cardstock #101650, brushed gold cardstock #102935

Accessories:  Waffle Paper #120984, Glass Glitter in Champagne #120997, Gold embossing powder #109129

Adhesives:  2 way glue #100425, sticky tape #104294

Tools:  Heat tool #100005, embossing buddy#103083, powder pals #102197

I’m back, and watch out for some change…

It's been a while.  Sorry I have been doing lots of workshops in the beginning of July and then left for a week to attend stampinup's 2010 convention in Utah.  As I was getting ready to post again, my dear husband decided to surprise me and when I got home he said:  unpack and repack, I am taking you to New York City for your birthday.  So It's already August and I am ready to roll.  In the next few weeks you will see changes to my blog.  So stick around!  I had planned to post about convention while I was there but forgot my camera cord, how sad was that.  So I will be posting with my creative stuff a few highlights.  I also have to do a little housekeeping and write about a few promotions that are starting today.
