What a great weekend

Marlayne Hardy and I had a lovely time, hosting our Third Creative Escape Retreat this past weekend.  It's already over and our guests are already excited for the next one.  Here are a few highlights from this fabulous weekend. Today I will be posting about Friday Night!  This event started off with a bang!! Stampers arrived early to get in line to check in.  First treat was a bag of goodies and attached was a tag that I made using the Holiday stocking die #124098 in early espresso card stock.

I also Love the DEAR SANTA stamp set from the Holiday mini #123832(w) #123834(c) That is where I got the To:  From: to stamp on the tag.

Marlayne used my digital studio to design the seating assignment.  She did such a wonderful job, I always keep mine as a souvenir!

My Advent Holiday calendar class took place on Friday!  They worked really hard but left with a great piece of art!

Then it was time for treats, Stampin'up! treats and Yummy edible treats.  Marlayne crafted the first stampinup! goodies.

If you would like to join us for our 4th retreat, simply email me, it's already more than half full, we will have a waiting list if it fills up to quickly! It will take place on March 30th,31st & April 1st 2012.  And if you can't wait that long to stamp with me, then I do have my semi-annual technique retreat on November 5th.  View details: HERE

Mica Flakes Scrapbook Page

A few weeks ago, I hosted a Holiday Card class that you can view HERE using the Mica Flakes.  So for last night's Scrapbooking Class, I used the MICA Flakes too.  Last month we did a Fall layout, click HERE to view it.  But this month, felt it was too early for Christmas.  So I took out a photo that my husband's aunt Paula had taken of Jordan.  Here is my layout.  I called it Fall Frost because this picture was taken in November 2009.  It was so cold but no snow at that point. I must admit that I truly love the Letter It alphabet stamp set.  And stampin up designers if you are reading this, I have a special request:  I would love to have a coordinating punch that goes with the Letter it alphabet #122840(w) #122842(c).  Scrapbookers would love it!

Again I decided to mount this scrapbook layout on a canvas so I can hang it on a wall in my home.

I also used the hostess set Simply soft and stamped Flowers in neutral colors and added the mica flakes on the flowers.  So who says that we can't use flowers for Fall Projects.

I will post product list a little later since I need to taxi my kids tonight to their activities.  So You might want to check back later on this link.

If you would like to come to next months scrapbook class, see details below.

Scrapbooking Night:
Come to this special evening monthly and preserve those precious memories by learning new techniques using different products and creating beautiful scrapbook pages.  Every month there is a different theme.  Cost is 25$ or FREE with a 38$ order.

Upcoming dates:    (Every 3rd Tuesday of the month) September 20th, October 18th, November 15th, December 20th you simply need to RSVP

Hello Doily Christmas Card

I love background stamps.  They make a card so beautiful and you don't really need to add much to a project.  When I saw the Hello, Doily background stamp set I was over the moon.  A stamp set like Hello, Doily speaks for itself.  Last night at my Christmas class one of my guest made a beautiful page with it.  It wasn't a Christmas Page but it inspired me to make a card for today's share.  I love how this stamp is so versatile, from simply elegant to holiday projects, this baby is a must in your stamp space.  You probably can't see very well but this card is 5×5, therefore it is a large stamp set.

I used the scallop square die with the Frostwood lodge designer paper.  Another great die to use with your big shot.  And you can get your own big shot or 125$ of free products when you sign up as a demonstrator.   Ask me how or join HERE.

If you are recreating a 5 x 5 card, don't forget the Medium Square envelopes #107289

Hello Doily background stamp #122845

Supplies used to make my Hello, doily card :

Stamp set: Hello, Doily #122845

Ink:  Whisper White Craft ink

Accessories and tools:   3/8" Quilted Satin Ribbon in Cherry Cobbler #124105, white embossing powder #109132, embossing tool #100005, Antique brads #117273, Embossing Buddy #103083, Powder Pals Tray #102197, Big shot #113439, Scallop Square #115950, Paper-piercing Tool #116631, Medium Square envelopes #107289

Creative Escape Sneak Peek Class 2

Let the countdown begin.  In 16 days, Marlayne and I are hosting our 3rd Creative Escape Retreat.  We host in Spring and Fall.  I get especially excited in the Fall because I get to make Holiday projects for our guests.  I am honored to host 2 classes at the retreat.  The first one was my Fall Wow scrapbook which you can view HERE and now you get a sneak peek of the second class.

I have always wanted to make an Advent calendar and didn't know where to start.  This year I am amazed that Stampin up! came up with products in the Holiday Mini to make one.  The Stamp set 25 & Counting or in french J-25 and the new Peekaboo Frame Bigz Die are the perfect and easy way to create one.  I could not pass up this opportunity:)  I was going to make it on a canvas so my guests could make one at a reasonable price.  But then Stampin up! came up with great products on the clearance rack, which included the Chunky Frame.  It's been one of my favorite products and I was sad when stampin up retired the frame.  So now that it's back for limited quantities and at a cheap price, I jumped on the occasion.  And suddenly I thought to myself, I will use the chunky frame to make my advent calendar.

And voila! the outcome:

I loved how easy it was to create the opening frames, the peekaboo Frame Bigz L die was perfect for that.  And now until the end of October, Stampin up has offered the Big Shot for FREE or 125$ of FREE product, when you join my family of demonstrators in October.  Learn how to get this sweet deal HERE

The chunky frames are great to work with because you can add any designer paper to decorate the frame.  It's simple you just cut your paper and glue it to the frame.   I used Frostwood Lodge Designer Paper.

I am truly grateful of this beauty and will display it every year during the Holidays.  I especially love Day 25, which is our family picture and wishes Happy Holidays.

You can view or purchase the Chunky Frame on my clearance rack by clicking HERE and selecting clearance rack on the left.  This item has limited quantities and you might want to get one asap.

If you are attending our Creative Escape Retreat then this is a class you don't want to miss, email me.

Follow up on my birthday organizer

Ok this is the last time you will read about my birthday calendar.  I intended to post last night but we finished a little bit late:)  I am overwhelmed by your response to add your name to my birthday organizer and let me tell you, I need to start making the cards this weekend, as I do have birthday cards to send out on Monday, so it can hopefully make it on time for your early birthdays.  But I did want to share with you a few of my favorite months.  I used stamps sets that were dear to me and also that coordinated with the months.  Some we added ribbon, designer paper and other embellishments.  I guess my favorites were the simple ones.  I don't know why because normally I don't do good with simple.

March's Featured stamp set: Forever Young #122570 (w) #122572(c)

April's Featured Stamp set:  Up, Up & Away #122755(w) #122757(c)

June's Featured Stamp set:  The Open Sea #123030(w) #123032(c)

July, my birthday month's Featured stamp set: Creative Elements #122645(w) #122647(c)

And November's Featured stamp set:  Gently Falling #123802 (w) #123804(c)

You can view my cover album:  HERE and HERE

Class to go is also available but does not include shipping, shipping cost is additional. Available in English or Français.

I should have posted them last night but again, we did finish a little late and I did need to recharge my batteries on my camera.  It would have been a great night to post as I did not go to bed until 1h30 am.  Why?  Because my hostess brought lots of treats and we attacked them all like children that had never eaten candy before.  Note to self, do not eat the candy!  It got me so hyper!

On a side note, I did receive your requests for the Christmas in September pdf and there are two ways for your to get my class:

Birthday Organizer

I am so excited to share my first of top 10 gift ideas for the holidays.  A hand made gift is a gift that comes from the heart.  I love to shower gifts to people that have touch me one way or another.  Plus, I was looking for a way to organize birthday's for people that are special to me.  I finally found a concept that is great to organize birthday's.  Seriously it was in our Stampin'up! Catalog on p.181.  It's the birthday Calendar available in english or en francais, Calendrier des anniversaires.  Of course mine is decorated with the beau chateau designer paper to match my studio.  But guests will be able to decorate it in the designer paper of their choice.  I will use 4 different stampin'write markers to register my special birth dates.  Marina mist for demonstrators on my team, Soft Suede for my customers, Early Espresso for family and pretty in pink for special people that have touch me one way or another.  So at the end of every month, I will look at the next month coming and if there are 6 birthdays during that month.  I will stamp my birthday cards and organize them to mail out.  Behind every month will be a pocket holder to place my cards awaiting for postage.

This album includes the 12 months and measures 5 1/2" x 14"

Tomorrow night a couple of guests are coming to decorate this wonderful calendar.  I still have 3 spots left so you can join us if you want.  Demonstrators are welcome too:)
Can't Make it, book your own party and let's get together to make this great holiday gift idea with your girlfriends.

Class includes:  Birthday Calendar, assorted designer paper, assorted ribbon and other embellishments.

When: September 29th at 19h30 pm

Where: Kim's studio

Cost:  25$ or 1/2 price with a 50$ order or FREE with a 75$ order

RSVP:  to save your spot, 3 spots left

Class to go is also available but does not include shipping, shipping cost is additional.

Creative Escape Sneak Peek Class 1

In less than one month, we will be hosting our Fall Creative Escape Retreat.  I am so excited to share with you one of my classes for our Retreat.  Here is a Sneak Peek.  It's a Wow Album.  Not because of the outside but because of the inside.  I'm not completely done but will share a little today, since my facebook buddies Tammy and Jo-Ann wanted to see it.  If you are interested in attending our retreat, we have 20 open spots.  Our retreat is sold out for guests who are spending the 2 nights but Marlayne and I have opened 20 extra spots for non-sleeping guests.  Email me if you are interested.

I am also doing the same album but with the Christmas theme, so guests who attend the retreat will have 2 options to choose from.  Fall or Holidays, it will be a difficult choice!

Here is the inside:  I still need to add my pictures and my embellishment to make it Kim's Style!

If you are attending our retreat, you will get complete details of this class via email. Have a great evening, I'm off to finish my album:)

Tea Time Stamping

This morning at our Tea Time Stamping Class, we created a beautiful bundle of cards.  I  have to say, I truly enjoy day time classes.  A few of my customers were asking about having a day time class and we started a few weeks ago.  I am happy to say that every Friday there will be a special am class from 9h30 to 12h00.  So if you don't like driving at night, have free mornings and feel like creating beautiful projects, Email Me to register for 1 or ALL of my Tea Time Stamping Classes.  Demonstrators are welcome too:)  Classe offerte en Français aussi.  We will be doing numerous projects.   From Christmas cards to other type of cards, scrapbooking, 3D projects…  This morning we made 4 different cards with an elegant box.  Here is one of the cards we created.

Card #1.  The others were the same colors but had different designs.

The sad part about cyber stamping is that you don't feel the softness of the Mocha Morning Specialty Designer paper. It feels like felt.  To age my cards I love to use my Color Spritzer tool #107066  for only 16.95 $ Canadian.  You only need a stampin'marker and this tool to add specs of ink to a card.

Supplies used to create my Team Time Stamping  card :

Stamp set: Artistic Etchings #118517(w), #120573(c)

Ink:  Riding Hood Red #111836, Basic Black #101179, Crumb Cake #121030, Basic Black Stampin' marker #100082

Card stock and paper:  Riding Hood Red #111348, Basic Black #121045, Crumb Cake #120953, Very Vanilla #101650, Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Paper #122366

Accessories and tools:  5/8" Basic Black Satin Ribbon #117285, Antique brads #117273, Color Spritzer Tool #107066

Have a great weekend!
