Baby Thoughts

As I went to the hospital today to check on my charts, and baby kits, I visited my friend and downline Jennifer.  Mike and Jen are expected their 4 baby.  She has 3 boys at home and is expecting baby #4, and doesn't have a clue what she is expecting.  I am just praying for a healthy baby and easy labor!  9 days over due and still smiling.  I truly admire her.  Jen has triggered my baby thoughts.  No no not the ones you are thinking.  Tony would flip knowing I had baby thoughts!  What I mean is baby stamping thoughts.  I started by stamping a few cards in neutral tones since I don't know what Jen is having.  But if she is having a girl, you know I will go all out in pink and save this one for someone else:)  I am also going to create gifts for her and the baby with my stamping products and match them with my card.  Jen, I will be thinking of you tonight:)

Spice cake designer paper has an awesome color combo that I couldn't resist for this card:  Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Soft Suede.  If you have trouble creating great color combination then I would suggest you getting the Color Coach #120148.

Last Day at Founder’s

It's a bitter sweet day, as this was our last day at Founder's but I do miss my family and am ready to go home.  I had a great day, again it was a free day to shop just a little and spend time with friends and then Stampin'up! took us to our surprise destination for an evening of fun.  We actually went golfing stampin'up! style.  We were challenged to guess how many stamps in a container, drive a marshmallow, stamp blind folded etc.  I had the greatest time and laughed so hard.  Imagine 130 some demonstrators on golf carts.  We had challenges on all 9 holes.  Don't you think they go all the way?  Our theme was tea party and they added golfing on the tee to match that theme!  How smart is that?

We were matched my teams, here is my teammate Joanne from The Brits.

After Golf we headed to the club house for a delicious buffet.  Our center pieces were gorgeous, beau chateau style.

They also had trophies for our sportsmanship with the in colors markers.  It will be in display it in my studio and will remind me of this wonderful day.

When I arrived back to my room, of course there was another pillow gift awaiting for me on my bed.  This beautiful blossom box #123127.

Inside, a wonderful chain filled with baubles and crown trinkets from our Catalog to use as a key chain or to hang on a purse.  I especially loved the tea cup, it is engraved Founder's 2011.  I will need to figure where and how to use it.  Since it will remind me of memories of Founder's.  It could have been intimidating being with the top 100 in the states and top 15 in Canada.  But I made wonderful friends that I am blessed to have met and was really welcomed by so many of them.  They really made me feel at ease and I am truly grateful.

Being part of Stampin'up! is fully rewarding.  If you would love to learn about this opportunity and be part of my team, contact me and we can set some goals.  From hobbyist to Top demonstrator in Canada, there is a place for everyone.  I would love to help you discover the benefits.  And if you are already a demonstrator, I wish for all of you to experience Founder's one day:)

Day 3 Founder’s

All I can say is Wow!  Spent a beautiful day in Kanab, touring the manufacturing facility and enjoying a picnic at the park where chopped rubber is laying on the ground instead of sand.  Visiting Kanab has so far been my favorite part of Founder's Circle!  I got really emotional when we got to the manufacturing facility.  All the staff was waiting outside to greet us.  They really love what they do, I guess as much as I love being a demonstrator.  They had all stamped their name tags and spoke about their job with such pride.  I am surprised how reasonable the prices of our stamps sets are with all the tremendous work that goes into making them.  I even participated on the front line, cutting the rubber and packaging …  We even got a free stamp set and they were so happy to give it to us.  It's a stamp set from the 2012 occasion mini.  It was truly a day to remember and I will treasurer this forever.

I even got to visit Shelli's apt in Kanab, it is beautiful and feels like home!

Sterling and Shelli donated recycled rubber for the local park in Kanab.  When I walked in it, it had a bouncing feeling, kids were sure having a great time here.  There was even rubber on the ground in the volleyball area.

Here we are, most of the Canadians that attended Founder's

In the evening, we got to attend a musical, the Little Mermaid at Tuacahn, a breathtaking scenery!

When I got back to my room, a beautiful handmade beau chateau apron was awaiting in our SU box.  I just wanted to scream:)  So excited.

I also wanted to share a special gift that we received last night, on pj/share night.  It was a journal made with my digital studio.

And here we are on share night in pj, Kay Smith, Ronda Wade, Marlayne Hardy and I

Day 1 evening/ Day 2 at Founder’s

When I left you on my last post, I was going for dinner.  I did find my 5 teammates.  Our team was called The Brits.  Here we are:  Joanne Rolston, Jo Golden, Meg Loven, Diana Gibbs, me and Josee Smuck.

Look what was awaiting at my seating.  We each got a beautiful teacup with flowers and a beau chateau mds name tag.  What a great idea.

When I got to my room, I received this pillow gift filled with products, some were new and we can't share them yet because they are not available to you and will only be available in the 2012 Occasion mini.  But I can share you a card from make and takes that uses one of the stamp sets.

Here is one of the make and takes from Founder's

Then yesterday was Day 2, it was a day where we could do whatever we wanted.  I decided to join 11 demonstrators and we went to explore the Narrows in Zion National Park, which was amazing.  I can't wait to share pictures when we receive our cd from the guides.

In the evening there was share night in our pj. + swaps exchange.  I never saw such a long line to exchange cards.  It took the enter hotel.

I will post later, can't wait to share with you the journal that I received.  It's 6h30 am and I'm getting ready to go to Kanab to visit where they make the stamps.  I hope you are enjoying my posts.  I always wanted to know what founder's was about.  And now that I'm here, I wanted to share with you in case you wondered.

Have a great Friday,

Founder’s Trip Day 1

I made it to St-George Utah, all I can say is that it has only been 2 hrs and I'm so impressed with the details and dedication in the preparation of this event.  It's a dream come true to earn Founder's.  And for me, a first time achiever, I think it's going to be the best event that I have ever attended.  Especially that the theme is Cupcakes and Tea.  I can't wait to post to you bits and pieces if the internet cooperates with me:)

So I arrived yesterday in Vegas, I was told that Canadians like to fly in one day early to prevent flight issues and jet lag.  Then this morning at 8h00 we were bussed to St-George Utah which is 2 hrs away.

We were greeted with Manhattan decor element at the front door of the Courtyard by Marriott with a special Founder's Sign.

Then entered the gathering place for yummy cupcakes & candies. There are flowers and Beau Chateau fabric decorations.  It really has a vintage feel.  I LOVE IT!

All our rooms are identified by this beautiful vintage sign.

We have a welcome dinner tonight and are playing this fun game and I have to find my 5 team members. Will post later.

Hugs,

Scrapbooking Memories

So we are in the 2nd week of school for the girls.  Routine is settled, which puts a big smile on my face.  Meals are organized, I know the girls' after school activity schedule and the best part is that you get to come to my Fall classes, workshops etc.  We have a beautiful catalog and Holiday Mini Catalog and it has inspired me to create great memories for my family.  One of the projects that I created a few weeks ago is a mini 6×6 album for Jordan.  Why Jordan?  because she is my youngest, the one that I still have the power to dress up cute.  With Megan and Lauren, I don't stand a chance!  I created this special album for Jordan and am going to add a picture of every year since her birth.  The Beau Chateau collection is perfect for her.  I can think of events, clothes and memories that will match this collection.  I can't wait to share with you a few pages in the next few weeks.

So here she is, proud moment for her because she lost her first tooth before her first day of school and finds it really cool.  On the other hand, I am trying to grow her bangs and she refuses to tie them up.  So I don't know how long I'm going to last without cutting them:)

Here is some of the cute ruffles that I have been taking about.  First day back from school!

I love how the ribbons, pink bauble, paper and album coordinate so well together.  If I had left over fabric from the beau chateau collection #122336, I would have used it for sure.

Do you wonder why this album is so appealing to the eye. One of the great rules for scrapbooking is that you need to add elements in a triangle.  On my album, your eyes are drawn to the butterfly, bunched up ribbon and the word memories from the album.

Supplies used to create Jordan's 6×6 album :

Stamp set: Calendar Alphabet & Numbers #111610

Ink:  Soft Suede #115657

Card stock and paper: Beau Chateau designer paper#122357

Accessories and tools:  Beau Chateau 6×6 album #122468,1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon in pretty in pink #119775, Pink pirouette 3/8"Taffeta ribbon #122981, 1/2" Scallop dots ribbon in Pretty in Pink #124141 and Marina Mist #122986, Victoria 5/8" crochet trim #118481, Linen Thread #104199, Pink Crystal 5/8" simply adorned bauble (my fav) #121013, On Board Merry Medley chipboard to cover my butterfly #122958, Basic Pearls #119247

Have a great weekend

My First Blog Hop

So this is my first blog hop.  I am part of Josee Smuck's downline, her 4th level down, actually.  Since Josee has moved to Winnipeg 1 year ago, we don't get to do much as a team anymore.  When she announced the blog hop, I thought of two things, first it challenges me to create and second, what a great way to reconnect with our inkies team members again.  As time goes by, I'm sure we will grow and have the biggest blog hop since there are so many talented demonstrators.  Remember in the beginning of the week, I shared my first Halloween treats.  Well today I'm going to show you a similar project but Kim style and post the instructions too.

Instead of treats filled with candies, I filled these with Spice Cake designer buttons, they are 1 1/2" in diameter.  Wow never saw such big buttons for crafting.

(Side view)

Instructions:

1.  Cut a piece of very vanilla 4 1/4" x 11  (so with a 8 1/2" x11 sheet you get two)

2.  Score the very vanilla card stock at 1 1/4"  and 6"

3.  Stamp leaf images from the stamp set Gently Falling in Soft Suede, More Mustard, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz on the very vanilla cut card stock.

4.  Punch out an open space with a punch to showcase your candies or in my case buttons, I used  the Scallop circle punch

5.  Fold you pre-scored 1 1/4" very vanilla piece and attach a piece of Spice Cake Designer Series Paper that is 1" x 4"

6.  You will then staple the two pieces together to create a loop like in the image above.

7.  Decorate to taste, I added scraps of designer paper and folded them in accordion fold and glued them with sticky tape, I added 1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon in soft suede, and attached a handmade tag with the greeting that says "MERCI BIEN" from the stamp set Notes manuscrites or you can use the English version Hand-Penned Holidays and stamped a few leafs and glued them on to create a 3D image.

8.  Fill cello with candy or like me with Spice Cake buttons and stick them in with sticky tape.

Voila!

Supplies used to make my Spice Cake treats :

Stamp set: Gently Falling  #123802(w) #123804(c), Hand-Penned Holidays #124310(w), #124312(c) or en Français Notes manuscrites #125359(w), #125361(c)

Ink:  Soft Suede #115657, More Mustard #103162, Pool Party #122938 and Pear Pizzazz #119784

Card stock and paper: Spice Cake Designer Series Paper #124003, Very vanilla cardstock #101650

Accessories and tools:  1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon in soft suede #125060, Spice Cake Designer Buttons #124113, 3"x5" cellophane bags #103104, Linen Thread #104199, 2 3/8" Scallop circle punch #118874

Halloween Treats

Are you excited about the new Holiday Mini.  I am. it's my favorite mini out of the 4.  If you are on my mailing list you should have received your mini's by now.  If not email me.  Yesterday I shared that I was working on a bunch of Fall projects.  I wanted to share with you my first Halloween Treat.  I decided to package candies for two reasons.  The first reason is that this year, I will be ready ahead of time for Halloween and Second, if the candies are packaged then I'm not eating them:)  This week I will be posting a more elaborate Halloween treat , "Kim Style"  and sharing the simple instruction from this cute package but this first treat is perfect for kids and for my new kids/tween class.  Sign up for the next few kids class.  Schedule is up HERE

NEW!!! KIDS CLUB: Ice Cream Social just for kids & Tweens

Yes a class just for kids:)  Come and make fun projects once a month and after our creations, we will enjoy yummy ice cream at the Sunday Bar.  Cost is 25$ and includes products

Upcoming dates:    (Last Sunday of the month) September 25th, October 30th, November 27th & December 18th at 1h15pm

Here are a few products to highlight:  The quick accents Pick your poison is great, it's a creepy self adhesive accent to add to any projects and then I just stamped the skeleton from the Piece of Poison.  I also love Pick your poison designer paper, it is stunning when you see it "live".  It will make great Halloween scrapbook pages.  And the best part is you can also order digital downloads for Halloween:  there is Pick your Poison Embellishments #125614 and Piece of Poison stamp brush set #125607.  Did you like how I stashed my candies.  The cello bags are wonderful for that and to punch out a window to showcase them is great too.  Full instructions on how to make these HERE.

Have a great day, for some of you it's the first day back to school!
