The new eclipse technique

Have you seen the new creative trend lately?  If you like to go on Pinterest, there are many samples for this new eclipse technique.  I loved the look and decided to try it out myself.  The demonstrators on my team that attended my monthly team meeting in September tried it as well.  They loved it.  I gave them a challenge to show me their versions and await their sample before we chose a winner!! The best card gets a prize!!!  I'll get my girls to pick out the winner since I'm sure the samples will all be amazing.  I am blessed with such talented, sweet demonstrators on my team.  Love to host those monthly meetings.  I anticipate for that monthly date night with these girls. If you would like to try the eclipse technique you can host a party with me or follow the steps below.  Here is a glimpse of the final product.  I used the hostess merry patterns stamp set that we have on promotion.  You can earn it for FREE too, just ask me for your hostess code and compile orders in September and October.   You can combine both months too:)  See the promotions details HERE.

Step 1

Stamp images on a piece of card stock.

I used cherry cobbler and old olive ink with the hostess stamp set Merry Patterns.

Step 2

Chose a word and place the Large letters framelits #141712 on your piece of stamped card stock.  Note you could do this technique with the large numbers framelits as well #140622.  The trick is that your letters need to be big to have an amazing affect.  The large letters in the annual catalogue are perfect for that.

Step 3

Pass your letters and card stock image in the big shot machine. Set aside the letters and adhere your card stock like the image below.

Step 4

This is an important step!  To have the best effect use the foam adhesive strips.  Those are thicker and will provide height to your letters.  If you use regular dimensionals, the letters won't have as much of the eclipse effect.

Step 5

Adhere the foam adhesive letters to the card, where they were cut out.  Shift them slightly to the right, just a "touch".  This creates that eclipse shadow.  And voila!  In my card below, I stamped the greeting "Merry Christmas" with the archival basic black ink.

I hope you enjoyed this new technique!   Don't forget to ask for your hostess code to earn this beautiful stamp set for FREE.  And if you shop with me, I have a VIP customer perk, you get to accumulate points for FREE products!!  Happy stamping!

Out with the old, in with the new

This weekend, I took the time to gather from my studio all the retiring items  that Stampin up! released in their retired list. I’ve challenged myself to create projects with these items before  you  start ordering from the New Stampin up! catalog at the beginning of June.  If you want me to reserve a copy of the new catalogue, simply send me an email.  It’s very dear to me to have a copy for my customers.   I’ve also already ordered products from the new catalogue and needed to make room for my new goodies.  This is one of the perks from attending on stage and all demonstrators will also be able to order in May.  We are so excited to have this opportunity to make cute projects for you before the official release!

Today, I chose the Help me grow stamp set #140764. This was the one stamp that I was most upset when I saw the list. But on the positive side, I also ordered in my pre order something exciting and similar.  Therefore, sometimes you have to let go of certain things as better things are ahead🙂  The stamp set coordinates with the Rose Garden Thinlits #140619.

I also used the gold wink of stella glitter brush #141898 for the center of my flowers.  This item is also retiring.  But the clear wink of stella #141897 that I used on my petals is not retiring, thankfully!  It brings a glitter to your project.

The basic pearls will return but in a different format.  Therefore, you will also find these on the retired list #199247.  I added three on my card to balance my project.

My color combo consisted of pool party, very vanilla and crushed curry.  It’s a beautiful combo that you will see in the new catalogue.  By the way, demonstrators get their new catties before customers.  Another perk of being a demonstrator!  I initially joined for the discount 10 + years ago but realized there were so many other perks.  If you’d like more details, please feel free to email me.  If you join in May, you can pick items from the new catalogue for your starter kit.  That’s $165 of product for only $135.  No tax, no shipping:)

here is another of my samples using the help me grow stamp set:)

Don't forget to view all the amazing products from the retiring list.  Order on my online store or email me your order.

I hope you enjoyed my help me grow cards and that you are inspired to use the retired products before they are gone for good! Happy stamping!

Below is a list of my current events and promotions, you don’t want to miss out!

More love notes

I'm loving the Falling Petals textured impressions embossing folder.   I don't see petals but more so hearts.  This 6×6 embossing folder is perfect for scrapbook backgrounds too.   When the paper is embossed it looks vintage, elegant and has a tone of simplicity to it.  Creating a monochromatic theme increases even more the romantic look.  Especially by adding the very vanilla 1/4' satin ribbon and gold metallic thread.

The love notes framelits dies include 14 dies that are versatile for all year long projects.  I created the mini envelop and hearts with these dies.  I also used the sequins from the Cupcakes and carousels embellishment kit.  It coordinates perfectly.

The occasion catalogue is filled with so many great products and it's even better when you can get free products from the sale a bration catalogue.  On the down side, my mind has been going miles a minute so I have trouble falling asleep at night.  I guess it's a positive thing to be so inspired to create.  Does this happen to you?

Sale-a-bration is the perfect time to get new goodies and get together with your friends.  Email me to host your party…  I would love to invite you to my Occasion's and Sale a bration catalogue party on January 18th at 7pm.  To attend the event is FREE and you will make 3 projects.  Email me or text me and I will send you all the details.  I hope to see you.

So hard to let go

I hope you've enjoyed your holidays. I've taken some time off and it feels wonderful. When Stampin'up releases the retiring list of products from a catalogue, I always cringe my teeth… I have trouble letting go of my retired favorites… I use to keep them anyway but now I only keep a selected few… Being a demonstrator for over 10 years has made my stash of SU products pretty big. If I kept all my stampin products, I would need to upgrade the size of my craft room… Us demonstrators have great perks, like free goodies, bonus and a discount on our products, hence the reason I have a great and big supply of goodness… You might want to check in during the Sale-a-bration period that starts on January 4th, the starter kit has a great deal going down…  There has never been a better time to join either for the discount or to start your own business.

The holiday catalogue is coming to an end on January 3rd, just like the holiday are almost over.  I've shifted from making holiday projects, to winter projects… I'm loving the Mountain Adventure stamp set… This is one stamp set that I'm keeping in my retired stash… Skiing is a big part of our family activities and I know this set will be useful for a very long time.  I've design this scrapbook page below for my January scrapbook club, if you would like to attend, I'm hosting on January 11th.  If you live too far then take advantage of my kit to go.  The kit to go includes the Mountain Adventure stamp set.  You have until January 3rd to sign up.

I wanted to include so many pictures… There wasn't enough space for my journaling.  To resolve this issue, I added flip pockets to incorporate my journaling. The linen thread kept the pockets closed.  Another idea would be to use magnets…

The embellishments from the holiday catalogue were pretty amazing as well.  I love glittery things.  The tins of tags project kit includes these star and circle sequins.  I added them using the Fine tip glue pen.  I also added white mica flakes to my mountains.

Here is a view of the inside of my pockets.  I stamped the inside and colored the stamp images with my new watercolor crayons that are coming in the new occasion catalogue.  This is one of the perks of being a demonstrator, we can pre order the new goodies from the next catalogue. If you don't have the new crayons, you can use the ink off of your ink pads.  I just press my ink pad down so the ink transfers to the inside of the lid.

On my previous post, I talked about how much I love the large letters framelits. This time I embossed my letters with softly falling textured impression embossing folder.  Adding texture to the letters made the title pop out.  I also added more white mica flakes…

Tip: When I want to display a scrapbook page, I get a 12×12 canvas at my local craft store and mount the page to it.  It's perfect for wall art or even to display on a shelf.  This page will make it to my scrapbook wall for sure… The color combo is perfect for my display area.

Tags or cards

It was the perfect Saturday to do a marathon of stamping!  Cold rainy Saturday…  I had an amazing time creating.  My plan was to create cards, a stack of them.  But then I started liking what I was seeing.  The planned card design turned out to be an amazing tag as well.  I was torn between a card or a tag.

I must say if you want to minimize the stamping, this project is perfect.  Most of the design comes from the pretty pines thinlits dies #141851.  The coordinating stamp set is Christmas Pines #142049, it is available in french as well.  Christmas blessings comes from that stamp set.  It includes 22 photopolymer stamps.   If you wish to buy the stamp set and coordinating thinlits, the bundle saves you 10% off #143496.  I love my color combo used:  cherry cobbler, early expresso, very vanilla and garden green.  Perfect "christmassy" combo…  My background is the Holly textured impression embossing folder #141634. I also used the layering ovals framelits to create the tag #141706.  the Stampin up catalogue also has the circles #141705 and squares #141708.  They are the perfect layering framelits to create different shape and size tags.

My accessories included linen thread #104199, rhinestones #119246 and this christmas specialty designer series paper #141628

Please share your comments, do you prefer my project as tags or cards? I could not make a decision… Leave a comment and get the chance to receive this project…

If you would like to receive this card kit with the stamp set, please email me for more details. It could be mailed to your door…

Hello December!!

Hello December!

I was way overdue for family pictures with my daughters.  Although it was freezing outside, we had a wonderful photograph session.   I had these pictures in my phone and didn’t use them.  So last weekend, I decided to make something crafty to preserve my memories with my daughters.  They are growing way too fast.  So I go to retrieve my photos and they were not in my app on my phone. Grrr.  I wanted scream. I rely on my phone way too much.  All my precious memories were in this special app that I won’t mention here….  I had to update my phone a couple weeks back and bam the pictures were all gone.  And that icloud thing,  I still don’ t get. Where is the cloud? Lol.  Cause every time I need it, it’s not there.  I was in a panic mode.  Ya I did post a couple on my facebook page when I initially got them but they were the samples.  Lesson learnt, I should print my pictures and save them on a second drive. These precious moments can quickly disappear. Thankfully my super amazing photograph had them on file. She is extremely busy with her business and normally doesn’t keep them all.  I was ecstatic!! She said look at your emails in 2 hrs and they will be there… and they were!!! Thankfully!   I owe her big time.

This event has thought me a lesson.  Pictures of my family, my life and with my honey are truly meaningful to me.  I have decided to reorganize my pictures.  Project life is an easy and fast approach to my goals.  Although I like to add an extra bling here and there and everywhere, sorting my albums and scrapbook like the speed of lightening  will be a breeze.

If you are not a scrapbooker, or if you like my style of stamping, you might want to pay attention now.  I have decided to host a scrapbook afternoon on December 19th from 1pm to 5pm, where we will listen  to Christmas carols, eat some yummy treats and drink some hot drinks.  Staying in your pjs will make it that much more fun.    We will create a 6×8 Holiday Album.  Class fee is 69$ and includes a 64$ goodie bag.  You will leave with a full 12 or 24 sheet spread and album.  You pick…

If you can’t attend, you will have the option to get this class online.  It’s simple. You just need to order the project from me and will get instructions and/or mini videos as well.  How cool would it be to just have to slide in your pictures in your album spreads after the Holidays.  Hello December 2015!!!  You’ll get to keep those precious memories in a glam kind of way.

Have I got you excited yet?  To sign up, EMAIL ME or order online your products HERE.

Don’t forget to look at the online store.  The super extravaganza sales end today, shop now HERE.

Happy Thanksgiving !!

I hope you are enjoying this perfect long weekend weather.  It's Thanksgiving weekend in Canada.  Happy Thanksgiving my fellow Canadians.  I am so grateful for so many things.  We had a perfect family weekend.  Lots of laughs….   I'll have to share a couple of pictures with you.  My girls are the best.  As they get older,  I think we are getting closer.  I surely hope it remains this way… We have had a busy weekend soaking in this gorgeous weather.  Fall is my favorite season.

This is certainly a scrapbooking pic.   I have so many that it will have to be used for my project life album.

Although my focus is not on Fall today, You can still take in some tips and techniques from my holiday card.

Tip of the Day:

If you fold  in and out the doilie with your stampin' trimmer with the scoring blade,  it will create an edge to it making it pop out and adding a vintage look to your card.

The home for Christmas Enamel Dots #140536 are pretty cute too!

I love that Stampin up! has different greetings that you can create with your bigshot.  The thinlits are so fun and easy to use with the magnetic platform.  For this card I used the word "Merry" from the Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies #139659.  These are also available for my french stampers!!:))
The current catalogue and Holiday Catalogue have a couple of options for wording and greetings.  It adds a nice touch to your projects. Check out these cute thinlits for different options:  Greetings Thinlits #138275, Hello You Thinlits #137363

I also wanted to thank the stampers that have ordered the paper pumpkin kits before October 10th. You will receive your next paper pumpkin in a pink box and a little something from me in the mail.  Thank you for donating to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

Shop HERE for the products to create a version of this project.  See the list of products below.

Enjoy your evening, Hugs xox

Giving for a good cause

To show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Paper Pumpkin is going PINK…  or at least the October boxes are!!!  Stampin'Up! will donate $1 for every active Paper Pumpkin Subscriber + An additional $1 for every new subscriber to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).

What is paper pumpkin?  It's a fully designed project kit that arrives in a delightful box (PINK for October if you sign up before October 10th) filled with stamps, ink, paper and all the accessories you need to complete your projects.  Everything ready to go….It's the perfect gift for family and friends.  It is also the perfect start if you are a beginner or if you don't have a lot of supplies at home.  It is also a great kit for the expert stampers because you can tweak it to your taste.

Here is a sample of the August kit, Chalk it Up to Love.  This is my simple version.  I copied the project exactly like the instructions that came with the content. So it's simple and easy and you learn new techniques along the way.  This kit came with all the supplies, stamp set and ink to make 3 boxes, 6 cards and 6 envelopes.  I keep all the projects made in a box and when I have an event and need a quick card for weddings, birthdays etc. I go directly in that box.  Also, when the projects are 3D, I will give these as hostess gifts and incorporate a treat.

The kits come all wrapped up.  It's a surprise to get your new kit every month.  You never know what is coming…. If you are a pinterest lover, there is a special spot for all the paper pumpkin kits and you get to view different projects.  Check it out HERE.

Wouldn't these boxes make a great hostess gift? When the boxes contain 3 D projects, I love to  give them to friends, teachers or even use them as pillow gift for family and friends that are coming for sleepovers.  It's also a great hostess gift to give to friends when invited for dinner.  I would add chocolate to mine.  As for all the cards, I placed them in a box.   When the girls need a birthday card for their parties or if I need a sympathy card or a wedding card and I'm in a rush, I just pick one out of the box.   The bonus is you get to keep the inks and stamp sets to make many more projects…

Here's a picture from Jordan, sewing on her card for her friend's birthday party.  She made the card on her own from one of the kits. It's from the March kit 2015 SEW YOU. A great way for her to learn how to sew.

Then mama stepped in and tweaked the kit to make it a wowser for the birthday girl…

So you can see how fun these kits are for new, beginners to expert stampers..

There are two simple ways to subscribe:

PAY AS YOU GO  Just sign up once for $24.95 a month (shipping included) and a new kit is delivered to your door each month.
