Birthday Organizer

I am so excited to share my first of top 10 gift ideas for the holidays.  A hand made gift is a gift that comes from the heart.  I love to shower gifts to people that have touch me one way or another.  Plus, I was looking for a way to organize birthday's for people that are special to me.  I finally found a concept that is great to organize birthday's.  Seriously it was in our Stampin'up! Catalog on p.181.  It's the birthday Calendar available in english or en francais, Calendrier des anniversaires.  Of course mine is decorated with the beau chateau designer paper to match my studio.  But guests will be able to decorate it in the designer paper of their choice.  I will use 4 different stampin'write markers to register my special birth dates.  Marina mist for demonstrators on my team, Soft Suede for my customers, Early Espresso for family and pretty in pink for special people that have touch me one way or another.  So at the end of every month, I will look at the next month coming and if there are 6 birthdays during that month.  I will stamp my birthday cards and organize them to mail out.  Behind every month will be a pocket holder to place my cards awaiting for postage.

This album includes the 12 months and measures 5 1/2" x 14"

Tomorrow night a couple of guests are coming to decorate this wonderful calendar.  I still have 3 spots left so you can join us if you want.  Demonstrators are welcome too:)
Can't Make it, book your own party and let's get together to make this great holiday gift idea with your girlfriends.

And we are off…

So like usual, I always have lots of things to do before I go on a trip.  This trip is extremely special because it's the Alaska Stampin'up! Cruise.  I love Stampin'up! events as it keeps me rejuvenated.  And May is a great time just before our 2010-2011 catalog comes to an end.

I only slept a few ours and packed last minute once again.  It wasn't the packing that kept me awake, it's the laundry.  My dad & step mom Karen are staying and sitting the kids at home so they are comfy in their own things.  I wanted laundry to be all done so he wouldn't need to bother.  They plan on enlarging the garden while we are gone.  See it's the first year that we decide to do a real garden.  Tony and the girls planted pumpkins and cucumbers.  But my dad is going to add extra veggies, like onions and tomato plants …. So the girls are really excited and I am reassured that they will have a great time while we are gone on this fabulous trip.  I hope there is internet connection so I can keep you posted.  Right now, I'm sitting at the Vancouver airport awaiting our next flight to Seattle.  There is a 3hrs time difference, so we had breakfast for the second time around!

I wanted to share today my Nautical Banner.  If you love parties or have children, I suggest investing in the Pennant Die.  You can view more matching projects HERE.

Pennant Stampin' Up! Bigz Xl Die #113483
Price: $53.95

You can use the Pennant die to create two sizes of festive pennants from any piece of card stock or Designer Series paper. This design is a Shelli original.

Keep in mind you need your Big shot #113439 and the extended cutting pads #113478.  I truly thing it was a great investment since I don't need to buy a banner for every occasion.

Products used:

Stamp set:  Sail Away #123013 (w), The open sea #123030(w) #123032(c)

Ink:  Not Quite Navy #103008

Nautical Party Planner

As I mentioned yesterday, I was the guest speaker at Marlayne Hardy's event.  I focus on the nautical theme and have to say it's a great theme for a birthday party.  What to focus on when getting ready for a party?

1-  the invitations

2-  A guest book

3-  A frame with the guest in honor

4-  A banner (it wouldn't be a party without the banner)

5-  Little cupcake decorations ( love my mini flags)

6-  Thank you cards

This picture might not be too clear, (keep in mind I am trying to work with a new camera)  I think I need a photography class! Keep checking in this week and you will get the tour of my projects!

Spring Cleaning

It's been almost 1 Year since Shelli Gardner, ceo and co-founder of Stampin'up! & her daughter Sara came to my studio because I was one of the winners of a workshop of a lifetime.  More pics HERE.    Get to read how I won the challenge.  Although, I didn't make many changes in my studio then, I did tidy it up for two of the most wonderful ladies.  Well lately I have been slacking on the cleaning and creating a little too much.  So since I don't get to host with Shelli and Sara, I said to myself that I needed to tidy up again!  Even if they are not coming for a visit anytime soon:(

So in the next few days, weeks I promise to share pics of my studio and how I am organizing it to make it more functional for me and my clients.  And if I get really excited, I will even give you a tour via video!  So, are you excited & ready?  I will start with my first pics tomorrow or I could say today since it's 1am and I can't sleep!  After all, I do need to tidy for Melissa's workshop in the next few hours!  It reminds me, I have a few more dates left for a party with your friends, and there are only 30 days left before sale-a-bration ends.

So book now and you and your customers could qualify for free products!

Ok it's now lunch time, I did manage to take a few pics.  Here is my coffee station.  Not for me, I don't drink coffee and never even tasted it.  It's the coffee and tea station for my class and workshop attendees!  They get to chose their favorite blend.  And below, in the baskets are all my punches.  Yes, I have to thank a dear demonstrator friend, Trina who suggested it.  The decor element above the piece of vintage furniture is called Très Chic, and comes in different sizes and colors.  You only get to see part of it in the picture.

My ribbon & button station.  I love how my furniture has frosty windows:)  So you don't get to see the mess inside!  And I love Stampin'up!  definitely decorative products.  The white daisies are called Upsy Daisies #117927.  Check it out on the right in my definitely decorative brochure.

And this piece of furniture is where I store my ink pads and wheels.  I hope you like my first mini tour in my studio.  If you haven't seen my kids stamp room click here.  Wait there is more, this is just a teaser,(wink)

Better yet, come to my next class to view the changes in person and bring a friend!

Please share a comment on how you get organized in your stamp space and I'll have a handmade blog candy for one of the post!

Blog candy winner & Canvas class sign up

I wanted to draw the names of the winners of the mini album on Sunday but our day was filled with lots of things to do + I had promised Jordan that she would pick names out of a hat.  Jordan fell asleep after dinner which is not her normal self.  She is the youngest but normally the last to fall asleep.  I blame it on being the third child and not having as much a routine as the others.  See, as a baby, she got to spend evenings in the arena where Lauren and Megan would skate.  And as a toddler she got to love spending some time with my stamping guests and today, she still likes to come and chat with the ladies.  Sometimes, makes us laugh, the comments that come out of this child's mouth is hilarious! And on other occasions, it scares me, what is she going to say next?  Like the stories she shares about our dog, Maya!

So it's Monday morning and the first thing we did is draw names.  I would like to announce the winners of the 3 mini-albumsRoselyn, Annick, Mary S.  I don't have your last names on the post.  Please email me your postal info!  Congrats and thanks to everyone for the lovely comments & support.

I also wanted to clarify that Marlayne shared with me this valentine mini album but the initial designer was Julie Buhler.  So thank you Julie.  Her measurements are a  little different and the concept but this is the beauty of the mini album, you get to make it and create it as your own:)

I'll be sharing again later today, it's a snow day the kids are home so my schedule is a little off but the view from my stamp room is amazing!

What’s the most popular sale-a-bration product?

It's snow day, so I'm home with the kids.  The girls are cleaning their stamp/playroom.   One of these days, I'll need to figure out how to do a video and give you a tour of our stampin'Kingdom.  I'm embarrassed to say that theirs looks much better then mine right now.  Megan is making some bookmarks with leftover valentine paper from last year for all her schoolmates.  We still have to figure what we will do for the boys!

I am having a fun day.  I'm planning a wonderful project for Melissa's chicks and chocolate party tomorrow night.  (Picture below)  If you would like to join us, email me! Class is 20$ or 25$ if you want 20 pieces of antique brads included.

This afternoon, we are heading to the physio as Megan injured herself.  Please pray for her.  She has been training since summer for this important  EOSIC competition on Friday in Toronto.  Poor girl, she is trying to pretend all is good because she doesn't want to miss the event.  It makes me feel so sad for her, as a nurse and especially a mom, I need to remind her that even though she has been working so hard, and put her heart and soul into preparing for this competition that we might not be able to go and that her health is much more important.

Now, have you guess which product as been most popular in the sale-a-bration brochure?

It's the Punch Bunch stamp set #123211 (c) #121847(w) or in french: Perfo à gogo #123237(c) #123235(w), in spanish, Perfora y decora: #123252(c) #123250(w).  If you have all the coordinating punches, it's so fun and easy.  You just need to stamp and punch.  Which punch coordinates?:  Two-Step Owl, Scallop square, 1 3/4" Scallop circle large tag, 1" circle punches.

Here is my card:

Love the seam binding, if you pull on the thread this is what it does!

Too great for small dreams…

It's been a crazy summer, where has the time gone by, I am not complaining but wow have I been busy.  From driving my kids around for playdates, skating, etc.  For those who don't know me, I am also a nurse and there has been a baby boom in our area which means I am the lucky girl that gets to do baby visits.  Also, this week has been all about workshops…why because of the awesome promotion stampin up has launched.  I have been doing workshops, workshops and more…  Getting an additional 35$ of hostess benefits is a great bonus to spend on new product for the 2010-2011 idea catalog.

Over the top Thursday is something I truly want to pursue.  I want to create a project that I feel I have given it my best.  Jordan's Too Great for Small dreams page means a lot to me.

Just finished workshop #3 for this week, it's been great, lot's of fun tonight and we booked 2 more workshops with these ladies.  What a great bunch!  We even decided that we would meet again in September but Lysanne's workshop will be in pyjas.  Yes it's going to be a pyjama party!  I just can't wait.  I just love to stamp in my "jamies".

I just loved this picture, it was when my brother in law  & sister in law got married in Jamaica.  Jordan was super cute on the beach.  She was only 2 1/2 years old.  If you know me, you know I love it when everything matches.  So for our family pictures, I bought clothes that coordinated.  When I saw Elegant Soirée designer paper, it reminded me of the Jamaica pictures… and I needed to create.  Yes, even if I am very busy, I still stamp for fun!  I want my girls to have great memories of their childhood.

Why did I write too great for small dreams?  If you don't know Jordan, all I have to say is our little girl knows what she wants, no one will be stepping on her toes at school.  I am almost convinced that she will be following her daddy's footsteps and owning a few businesses.  I hope they are stamping related do, lol. Ok, enough chatting about me:  the distressing essentials kit, wow it rocks! you have got to try it out.  I curled my flower petals, sanded my paper, placed my pearls with one of the tools and distressed my paper with the tea stain ink. Also, if you look at my second picture, you will see that the soft suede cardstock has been layered.  Stampinup cardstock is over the top great quality.  If you like layers, with this tool you can separate the cardstock.   If you don't own this kit, you need to add it on your wish list.

Scrapbooking memories for Father’s Day

My Father's Day Page

Memories of my husband & my daughter Jordan, Old Orchard USA.  I took this picture while they where spinning in this big giant bear ride.

Well let me tell you I found a new addiction! Specialty Designer Series Paper.  It's in the new Summer Mini Catalogue.  This vintage Designer Series Paper has different glossy designs that can be magically revealed using 1) Smooch Spritz 2) Aqua Painter 3) Brayer or 4) Sponge and ink.  I love love love it… As much as my stencils which I use a lot!  The brown specs are smooch spritz in log cabin.  I recommend using the color catcher so you don't have smooch everywhere.

My close up reveals a light impression of colors because I used a sponge.  If you want a bolder look, then I would suggest a brayer.  If you notice on the right side of my picture, I also stamped Sense of time stamp set over my sponged image to create texture.

If you are coming to one of my clubs or Melissa's party on Monday you get to make one of these!

Then I added On Board Cog in chipboard.  And added some chocolate chip ink to it. I used chocolate chip instead of early espresso because my new catty order will only make it in Canada monday!

By the way, have you noticed something different from this page?

Stampinup! sent us some samplers of cardstock from the new 2010-2011 catalogue.  A wonderful perk from being a demonstrator.  I used cherry cobbler and early espresso.

Specialty Designer Series Paper #117175

Smooch Spritz in Log Cabin # 119921

Color Catcher # 121093

Cog # 117237

Sense of Time # 113804

Brayer # 102395

Sponge # 101610

And the new colors will be available to you July 1st unless you join today, then you get to preorder new 2010-2011 products this month!

To order these wonderful products click HERE or email me

Have a wonderful weekend!
