Mica Flakes Scrapbook Page

A few weeks ago, I hosted a Holiday Card class that you can view HERE using the Mica Flakes.  So for last night's Scrapbooking Class, I used the MICA Flakes too.  Last month we did a Fall layout, click HERE to view it.  But this month, felt it was too early for Christmas.  So I took out a photo that my husband's aunt Paula had taken of Jordan.  Here is my layout.  I called it Fall Frost because this picture was taken in November 2009.  It was so cold but no snow at that point. I must admit that I truly love the Letter It alphabet stamp set.  And stampin up designers if you are reading this, I have a special request:  I would love to have a coordinating punch that goes with the Letter it alphabet #122840(w) #122842(c).  Scrapbookers would love it!

Again I decided to mount this scrapbook layout on a canvas so I can hang it on a wall in my home.

I also used the hostess set Simply soft and stamped Flowers in neutral colors and added the mica flakes on the flowers.  So who says that we can't use flowers for Fall Projects.

I will post product list a little later since I need to taxi my kids tonight to their activities.  So You might want to check back later on this link.

If you would like to come to next months scrapbook class, see details below.

Creative Escape Sneak Peek Class 1

In less than one month, we will be hosting our Fall Creative Escape Retreat.  I am so excited to share with you one of my classes for our Retreat.  Here is a Sneak Peek.  It's a Wow Album.  Not because of the outside but because of the inside.  I'm not completely done but will share a little today, since my facebook buddies Tammy and Jo-Ann wanted to see it.  If you are interested in attending our retreat, we have 20 open spots.  Our retreat is sold out for guests who are spending the 2 nights but Marlayne and I have opened 20 extra spots for non-sleeping guests.  Email me if you are interested.

I am also doing the same album but with the Christmas theme, so guests who attend the retreat will have 2 options to choose from.  Fall or Holidays, it will be a difficult choice!

Here is the inside:  I still need to add my pictures and my embellishment to make it Kim's Style!

If you are attending our retreat, you will get complete details of this class via email. Have a great evening, I'm off to finish my album:)

Fall Beauty

Tonight, I'm hosting my scrapbook club event.  I am so excited for tonight's project.  Here I go again, using Spice Cake designer paper.  But I couldn't resist.  And Jordan's picture does remind me of spice cake.  I don't know why but it does.  Scrapbooking is a precious hobby to me because I love preserving the memories of my daughters growing up.  I am hoping to give them each a scrapbook later on.  I don't really put pressure on myself by creating scrapbook pages in a specific order.  I go with the flow, what inspires me and that makes me happy without the stress.

I love layering my card stock to add dept to a project.

Soft suede is the best color to use to age paper and to create a vintage look.

If like my scrapbooking style, you might want to join us next month for another fun night of stamping.  See schedule below.

Scrapbooking Memories

So we are in the 2nd week of school for the girls.  Routine is settled, which puts a big smile on my face.  Meals are organized, I know the girls' after school activity schedule and the best part is that you get to come to my Fall classes, workshops etc.  We have a beautiful catalog and Holiday Mini Catalog and it has inspired me to create great memories for my family.  One of the projects that I created a few weeks ago is a mini 6×6 album for Jordan.  Why Jordan?  because she is my youngest, the one that I still have the power to dress up cute.  With Megan and Lauren, I don't stand a chance!  I created this special album for Jordan and am going to add a picture of every year since her birth.  The Beau Chateau collection is perfect for her.  I can think of events, clothes and memories that will match this collection.  I can't wait to share with you a few pages in the next few weeks.

So here she is, proud moment for her because she lost her first tooth before her first day of school and finds it really cool.  On the other hand, I am trying to grow her bangs and she refuses to tie them up.  So I don't know how long I'm going to last without cutting them:)

Here is some of the cute ruffles that I have been taking about.  First day back from school!

I love how the ribbons, pink bauble, paper and album coordinate so well together.  If I had left over fabric from the beau chateau collection #122336, I would have used it for sure.

Do you wonder why this album is so appealing to the eye. One of the great rules for scrapbooking is that you need to add elements in a triangle.  On my album, your eyes are drawn to the butterfly, bunched up ribbon and the word memories from the album.

Supplies used to create Jordan's 6×6 album :

Stamp set: Calendar Alphabet & Numbers #111610

Ink:  Soft Suede #115657

Card stock and paper: Beau Chateau designer paper#122357

Accessories and tools:  Beau Chateau 6×6 album #122468,1 1/4" striped grosgrain ribbon in pretty in pink #119775, Pink pirouette 3/8"Taffeta ribbon #122981, 1/2" Scallop dots ribbon in Pretty in Pink #124141 and Marina Mist #122986, Victoria 5/8" crochet trim #118481, Linen Thread #104199, Pink Crystal 5/8" simply adorned bauble (my fav) #121013, On Board Merry Medley chipboard to cover my butterfly #122958, Basic Pearls #119247

Have a great weekend

Ready to Roll Baby

When I work on project that truly inspire me like my scrapbook layouts, I love to showcase them.  I am working on a wall full of canvas and projects to put down my staircase in my studio.  Tonight I am hosting a workshop/party for Lysanne and her girlfriends.  We are calling it a Sangria Night Gathering.  Some are making pages and others a card bundle.  Here is my scrapbook page I was inspired partly by Fran Sabad at convention and took some of her elements.  Fran wish you lived closer would love to stamp with you!  I am also excited because I was able to find 2 of the pictures from my crashed hard drive.  These pictures were not on facebook because I saved them for my presentation at convention but then my hard drive crashed and I thought I lost them forever.  I'll chat products details later because I want to catch a swim before the workshop.

Book your party today and get free products, I'm taking dates for August, September, October…

Also New Class layout soon available especially for you!

I started using my New Alphabet stamp sets and I am in love with this one!:  Letter It #122840(w) #122842(c)

Helping others:)

As I am typing this today, I need to wipe a few tears.  While I was on the Alaska cruise, I found out that two of my coworkers (mother and daughter) had just lost a little angel.  Jenna was expecting and at birth a twist of events took for the worst and her baby girl Piper past away.  I work mainly with Jenna's mother Cathy. Cathy is an amazing woman that helps families out with our Healthy Babies, Healthy Children program.  She is one of the most devoted person that has a really tough job.  I wasn't there to support them through this tough and unexplainable ordeal.  When I got back from the incentive trip, I went to see Cathy and supported her.  While we shared tears, there is one thing that I couldn't shack off.  Cathy said:  "  The hardest part was when Jenna was saying, I'm afraid to forget her Mom".  That is when I knew what I could do for Cathy, Jenna and her family:  A Mini Album of Piper, so Jenna could remember her forever:)

I made her a 20 page album with the Love birds simply scrapping kit #118707 and today we added the photos.  And decided to add 18 more since it was so hard to choose.  Jenna will remember Piper for ever.  I am truly grateful that I could help her preserve those memories.  This is one of the reason why I love being a demonstrator!

So tonight please do one thing for me.  Hug your kids super tight and cherish those special moments with them.

Ahoy!

It's been a really really long time.  I realized how long of a time when people start emailing me, and asking if I am ok, or have I bumped them off of my list.  Nope!  It's been crazy and I seriously don't know where to start.  Here is a brief update:

- Jordan had a super bad virus that needed my full attention x 4 days and she hasn't been feeling well since.  She has been clinging to my hip most days.

- Then I caught her bug, yes we were the only two sick in the house + I hurt my back, I think it was from running with overly used running shoes.

- My husband has been gone out of town back in forth for the last two weeks

- I hosted two fundraisers:  the first one was for my dear colleague Genevieve who was diagnosed with Cancer.  A few of us from the office are walking for the relay for life in her honor as she fights this deadly disease.  I am happy to say that we have raised $726 at the Stamp and Stomp Fundraiser.  Wohoo!  I still have premade kits if you would like one email me 10$ is going towards our walk on June 3rd.  Kit details HERE. The second one was for one of my customer, Monique, she has a liver disease so we got together with some of her friends and stamped away and at this event we raised $328.75 for the Canadian Liver Foundation. Wohoo!

- I also was asked to be a guest speaker at Marlayne Hardy's event, which I focus on the Nautical products from the summer mini which I can't wait to share.

- I am also honored to be a speaker at the Stampin'up! Convention in Utah.  If you are attending, I can't wait to rock your world with my workshop presentation.

- At this point I am getting ready for the Alaska Cruise, I can't wait!  The only part I hate is leaving Jordan, she is going to be 6 very soon but I know how hard it is for her not to be with mommy at night:(

- So if you have missed me that much you won't want to miss my National Scrapbooking event:  Here are some details, I have a few spots left and a sneak peek.

What is my Spring Fling Stamp-A-Rama Day

in your PJs?

Nothing better to celebrate National Scrapbooking month, then a day of stamping in your pjs, where you will create 10 pages (12×12). Every page will wow you with new techniques like pull outs and more.
