Creative Escape Weekend Retreat (CEWR)
October 21-22-23, 2011
 
Thank you for registering for our Creative Escape Weekend Retreat!  I wanted to forward you just a few notes about the retreat.  More info will follow next week, but this should answer any questions you have for now.
 
Retreat Fees
If you paid for the full amount (175$) then this paragraph does not apply to you.  But, if you are receiving this email and  you have paid your Retreat deposit ($60).  The remainder of the retreat fee ($115) will be due on September 30th, 2011.  Please mail me a cheque (can be post marked September 30th) or call me with a credit card number. My mailing address and phone number is at the end of this note. There will not be a PayPal link for this fee.
 
Hotel Room
The River Rock Inn is completely booked, we are sold out.  If you are interested in having a roommate, please email me so we can make appropriate arrangements.  We do have a waiting list of people that would love to attend.  We have opened up 20 spots at a rate of 185$ for non sleeping demonstrators since the hotel is booked.  If you know of anyone that would love to come, please give them the message or they can email me.

Your Goodie Bag
Upon check in you will receive a goodie bag with products that you will use for your make and takes.  In your goodie bag, you will receive the following products from the Holiday Mini Catalogue:       

·         Holly Berry DSP
·         Early Espresso 3/8" quilted satin ribbon
·         Glimmer sheet 1 silver and 1 red
·         white gel pen
·         4 pieces of stitched felt
·         Assorted 12×12 card stock (10 sheets) – Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Wasabi
 
We will have projects designed and you will use your goodie bag items to create the make and takes if you wish.  We will be demonstrating projects to make with your goodie bag items on Friday evening and Saturday morning. 
You will be cutting the supplies yourself, so be sure and bring your own paper cutter, adhesives and any other supplies you think you may need.  You can work on your make & takes at your own pace over the course of the weekend.  You may want to bring some cardstock from home in the same colours in your goodie bag so that you can create similar projects should you wish.
 
As part of your CEWR package, you will be given the royal treatment which includes 4 pillow gifts made especially by Marlayne and Kim.  These benefits are exclusively for those participants registered with the CEWR.

Hours of operation
You can check in on Friday October 21st any time after 4:00, but keep in mind that supper Friday night is not included.  You may want to pick something up on your way.  There are several restaurants in the area – you can eat out or order in to your room. There is no restaurant in the River Rock Inn.  Click HERE to see a list of area restaurants + this year there is a St-Hubert that just opened next door:)
                                                                                                                                                                                                    
You will have access to your craft station all weekend until Sunday at 12:00 noon.  The rooms will be open 24 hours a day should you want to stay up late if your creative juices are flowing!

Fall or Holiday Wow Tag Scrapbook Class
Cost: 25$

Preserve your memories with this adorable wow tag album.  You can choose either the Fall Album or the Holiday Album. 
Class includes:  1/2 package of Spice Cake or Frostwood Lodge, matching ribbons, buttons, fabric, dimensionals, sponge.

Please bring sticky tape, adhesive and mini glue dots.
If you would like to embellish the album at the retreat with your precious pictures, please bring 24 photos.
When you sign up, please indicate if you would like the Fall Package or the Holiday Package.

Advent Holiday Calendar Frame
Cost:40$

Create this adorable Advent Calendar without all the hassle.  Everything will be pre cut and ready to go.  Simply Assemble and Embellish to taste.
Class includes:  Chunky Frame, 1/2 package of Frostwood Lodge designer paper, pre cut frames, matching embellishments to decorate the calendar: rhinestones, ribbon,brads, stitched felt, Jingle bells, dimensionals.

Please bring sticky tape, adhesive and mini glue dots.
You will also need one picture for the Centre.

Shaker Card Class
Cost $25
 
Make four shaker Christmas cards and receive an entire package of Mica flakes! Please bring your scissors, a bone folder and your adhesives (snail, dimensionals, sticky strip and liquid glue). Also – it would be a good idea to bring your powder pal or a container to keep your mica flakes in as they tend to be messy.
 
 
 
Flirtatious Card Keeper with 6 cards!
Cost $38         

Make this adorable Card Keeper using our matching Flirtatious Fabric and Designer Series Paper. We’ll also be making 6 co-ordinating cards!  Please bring your sticky strip, liquid glue and stampin’ dimensionals with you as well as your scissors and a bone folder.
 
You will need to sign up and pay any classes you would like to do by October 11th .  You can pay by cheque or call us with a credit card number.

 
Crafting Space/Products to borrow
When you arrive you can choose your space to craft – it will be on a first come, first served basis.  There will be 3 people per 2 8' table.  Kim and Marlayne will be bringing a large assortment of supplies to share such as our Big Shot and , Stamp sets and ink, punches and other tools.   You can borrow these items for your own projects and return them to the Tool Table when you are done.
 
Swapping!
One of the best things about gathering with other stampers is SWAPPING!  We will be swapping card fronts (5 ½” x 4 ¼”) at 8:00 on Saturday evening.  There is no theme, but card fronts should use current Stampin’ Up! Stamp sets and only SU materials please. You must sign up by October 7th if you would like to participate in the swap.   Usually all the card fronts you bring to swap are identical or similar. This is a great way to meet new people, get great new ideas for cards and you can adhere the card fronts to a card base when you get home to use them if you like! Keep one swap card for the display board and there will be an extra prize given to one lucky swapper!
 
To register for Swaps – Email me to sign up! Marlayne and Kim will compile the names and inform you by October 8th the total number of swaps required.

Raffles, Demonstrations and Other Fun!
We will have lots of fun Holiday mini product up for raffles all weekend!  Tickets will be on sale for 3 for $5 or and arms length for $10.  There will also be demonstrations, a creative PJ contest Saturday night and other games and contests!  We can’t wait!

To Bring with you:

–          Any scrapping supplies/photos/cutters and all adhesives
–          Portable light and extension cord
–          Hotels are often chilly, bring a sweater and dress in layers
–          Comfy clothes to scrap in
–          Fun PJ’s for our PJ night on Saturday
–          To-Go mug to refill with water, etc…
–          Bathing suit for hot tub
–          There is free WiFi in the ballroom – bring your laptop if you like!
–          You have a fridge in your room – bring extra snacks and drinks
–          Camera
–          Swap Cards

*Please label EVERYTHING you bring with you!

 
Meals
Included in your package are the following meals.
Saturday:  Menu for Saturday, October 22nd.

Breakfast:  Continental Breakfast

Lunch:  Includes 3 salades, Egg, chicken and ham sandwiches, wraps with condiments on the side, cheese, pickles and olives, vegetables and dip and mixed desserts.

Dinner:  SOUVLAKI BROCHETTE:   Includes a Greek  salad , Two tender skewers of pork served on a bed of rice, choice of potatoes and Tzatziki sauce and dessert
Sunday:  Continental Breakfast
 
*Please let us know ahead of time if you have any allergies that we should know about.
 
Alcohol
You may bring alcohol with you, but if it is purchased outside of the Inn you will have to consume it in your room.  No alcohol will be allowed in the cropping area.

    Hi there.
    A friend and I are interested in the retreat – a few questions…
    1 – any space left?
    2- am I reading things right that the hotel room is not included in the $175 fee?

    Hi Christine
    Yes there is space left, I think 4 rooms left and the hotel room is not included but the more your are in the room then you can divide the fee. It’s going to be wonderful. Hope to see you there.
